Sorry, I'm the Final Boss Now novel Chapter 53

The weight of the gift in his palm made George realize he hadn't been dreaming. His heart pounded uncontrollably, and his hand trembled as he held the bag.

Stella gave me a gift. Stella actually gave me a gift!

His eyes, hidden behind his glasses, shimmered with a mixture of excitement and joy, making his dark, deep-set eyes look almost bewitching.

Theobald walked up behind them, his tone respectful. “Mr. Spencer, it’s just a small token from my sister. She knows you don’t need anything, so she spent a long time picking it out. It’s just a little something, but we hope you like it.”

A gift she spent a long time picking out!

George was so overjoyed he could feel it in his scalp. His breathing grew shallow, and for a moment, he forgot to control his emotions. “I love it!”

Theobald was taken aback. He hadn't expected George to be so direct.

“See? I told you he’d like it!” Marguerite said, shooting a proud glance at Theobald. When they were shopping, Theobald had insisted on buying something expensive, given George’s status. But Marguerite had a different idea. It wasn’t that she was unwilling to spend the money; it was that George could buy anything he wanted. What mattered was the thought.

George was itching to open it, but he managed to restrain himself.

“Let me help you with those,” Theobald said, gesturing to the seven or eight shopping bags he was holding.

“Sigh…” Theobald let out a long breath. He had to make the most of his time as Marguerite’s servant before Simon returned, and before she got a boyfriend.

He didn't think much of George carrying his sister's bags. It was a simple act of courtesy. If he were sharing a place with a girl, he would do the same.

Back in his car, Theobald’s mood brightened. Marguerite had bought him a gift, too, as well as one for Simon and Aaron. It was her habit to always buy gifts in sets of three.

It was a leather belt. Although he wasn't particularly fond of the brand, because it was from Marguerite, he loved it and would definitely use it.

He hoped they would find Aaron soon. Marguerite had told him she was actively investigating his disappearance.
