Emma turned to Edric. "Is there any way to make those two Rank 10 powerhouses obey you in the future? Maybe poison them, so only you have the antidote? Or some kind of pact that forces them to follow your command? If they ever turn against you, you could kill them instantly."
Those were Rank 10s, after all. How many of those existed in the entire Empire? Killing them would be such a waste. It'd be better to do what Silas said—throw them onto the battlefield and have them wipe out the Chitinids.
"There actually is a way," Edric replied. "There's a kind of contract that allows a male to recognize a female as his master. To sign it, the male must surrender a sliver of his mental power to her.
"If he ever harbors disloyal thoughts, that mental power shifts instantly, and the female can collapse it in a moment. When that happens, his ability reverses and flows back into her, helping her ascend in rank."
A therian who lost his ability and suffered a mental collapse would become nothing more than an ordinary beast. Any female with an ability could easily kill him.
"That contract sounds perfect," Emma said, silently thanking the Beast God again.
"Can only females sign it?" she asked.
Edric nodded. "Yes. Only a female and a male can form a master–servant bond."
"Then, I'm coming with you."
Just thinking about having two Rank 10 male servants soon filled Emma with a sense of security. No matter how old those two were, it would at least raise her safety level by a lot.
Edric nodded. "I'll pack up—we'll leave right away."
The Violet Obsidian Clan was based on the Central Planet. Traveling there from A1 would take two days.
"I'll get my things ready too," Emma said quickly. Knowing they'd be away for several days, she began to pack her luggage. She had to bring both Coalball and Silas along.
"Ms. Tibarn, I'm coming with you." Corvin approached as he helped her pack. "I need to return to my lab anyway. I'll bring my mecha and warship with me—and build a new lab over there. Wherever you are, that's where I'll be."
Whenever someone commissioned a new warship or mecha, Corvin got extremely busy. If he stayed on the Central Planet all year, he might not see Emma even a few times. So, no matter where she went, he planned to build a lab nearby so that when his work was done, he could return to her right away.
"Ms. Tibarn, once the new lab's ready, I won't take on any more jobs for a whole year. I'll build you the best warship, the finest spacecraft, the most advanced mecha… Anything I can create, I'll make for you."
