Spoiled By My Nine Beast Husbands (Emma Tibarn) novel Chapter 164

**When She Opened the Door to the Life She Was Afraid to Live**
**by Nora Vale Kingsley**
**Chapter 164: A Dangerous Bet**

“Absolutely perfect! I want your match. Let’s make a wager,” Evie declared with a mischievous glint in her eye. “If I win, you hand over Corvin to me. But if I lose, I’ll give you Kael.” She punctuated her words with a playful shove towards Kael, who stumbled slightly, caught off guard by the sudden turn of events.

Kael felt a rush of instinctive resistance surge within him, but the moment his gaze locked onto Emma, he found himself frozen in place.

He didn’t know her, not really, yet there was something about her that felt achingly familiar. It was as if an invisible thread connected them, drawing him closer, igniting a flutter in his chest. What was this feeling? Could it possibly be love at first sight?

Evie, ever perceptive, noticed the hesitation in Emma’s expression and seized the opportunity to extol Kael’s virtues. “You probably don’t know who Kael is, do you? He’s the young heir of the Suncrest Clan, one of the most prestigious families on Central Planet. A level eight peak male, just as powerful as your match. Betting against you with him is completely fair.”

Kael stood beside Evie, his eyes unwaveringly fixed on Emma.

Would she actually consider this risky gamble?

A flicker of hope ignited in his heart. If she accepted the challenge, he would fight tooth and nail to ensure Evie didn’t win. Corvin would remain safe, and perhaps, just perhaps, he could find a way to stay by Emma’s side.

Emma had heard Kael’s name whispered in various circles, and she had even come to his aid once. Yet, she had never truly seen him until this moment.

Golden strands of hair cascaded around a face that could only be described as striking. His sharp, chiseled brows cast shadows over piercing, pale blue eyes that seemed to hold a thousand untold stories. His lashes were longer than one might expect, darker than his hair, fluttering delicately like the wings of a butterfly each time he blinked.

But there was a depth in his gaze that made her heart clench with unease.

What secrets lay hidden beneath that alluring exterior?

Emma turned her icy stare towards Evie, her voice laced with cold steel. “Corvin is my match. He’s not a mere pawn for your amusement. Who do you think you are, making such a bold play for him?”

Today was supposed to be a celebration, Amara’s birthday, and Emma had no desire to let Evie ruin it with her antics. If it weren’t for the occasion, she would have gladly given Evie a piece of her mind.

But this affront would not go unanswered. Later, after the banquet, Emma promised herself that she would make sure Evie and her entourage faced the consequences of their actions.

Ignoring Evie completely, she took Corvin’s hand, tugging him toward the exit with determination.

Corvin’s spirit soared at her gesture. He knew Emma would never bet him away.

However, as Emma attempted to leave, Evie’s voice rang out sharply, “Kael, stop her!”

Kael hesitated for a brief moment, then stepped forward, his hand instinctively reaching out to block her path.

“Female… you should really consider Ms. Evie Graham’s offer. I’m not inferior to Corvin. I—”

He struggled to articulate his thoughts in front of Evie, hoping that Emma would grasp his intentions.

But she didn’t. Instead, she shot him a glare that could cut glass, her voice sharp as a blade.

“Who do you think you are, comparing yourself to Corvin? You don’t even come close.”
