Spoiled By My Nine Beast Husbands (Emma Tibarn) novel Chapter 165

**When She Opened the Door to the Life She Was Afraid to Live by Nora Vale Kingsley**

**Chapter 165: The Unexpected Encounter**

Sister-in-law?

Evie felt a surge of confusion wash over her as she processed Aria’s unexpected words. Why on earth was she calling Emma that? Her eyes narrowed as she directed a fierce glare at the guards standing sentinel before her. “How dare you attempt to drive me away from here?” she snapped, her voice rising with indignation. “I have been invited here by the queen of Aurelia herself! I am a woman touched by the Divine Flame of the Beast God. Do you not fear the wrath of the Beast God for treating me in such a manner?”

Emma, standing with an air of calm defiance, let out a cold, mocking laugh. “If the Beast God is truly angry, let him come and find me.”

With a decisive turn, she addressed Marcus, her tone commanding. “Marcus, toss them out.”

Marcus straightened himself, a slow, deliberate movement that hinted at the power he wielded. His ability ignited, icy ropes of energy surged forth, binding Evie, her companions, and even Kael in an instant, linking them together in a frozen embrace. With a flick of his fingers, he sent them hurtling out of Aurelia’s territory, their protests swallowed by the distance.

“So weak,” Marcus remarked, his voice dripping with disdain, a smirk playing on his lips as he watched them disappear.

In a shadowed corner of the garden, Merlin observed the unfolding drama with intense, heated eyes, his gaze fixated on Emma.

“This is the female I chose,” he murmured softly, a mix of admiration and longing lacing his tone. “She treats her matches so well.” Yet, he couldn’t shake the thought that these fools were obstructing his path. A woman like Emma should only belong to him.

Merlin shifted his focus, turning to his subordinate. “Is everything ready?”

His subordinate nodded confidently. “All set. Nothing will go wrong.”

The garden where the banquet was held was vast and beautifully adorned, yet Evie’s dramatic scene had barely registered on the radar of the guests. Without her presence, the atmosphere around Emma and Aria felt notably lighter, almost buoyant.

Aria grasped Emma’s hand, exchanging a knowing look that spoke volumes. Then, with a sense of purpose, she turned to her two mates lingering behind.

“I’m taking Emma for a stroll. You both don’t need to follow us,” she declared, her voice firm yet gentle.

Emma instantly understood the unspoken message. She turned towards Edric and the others, her expression earnest.

“Edric, Corvin, take Marcus with you and let him rest for a bit. He looks thoroughly worn out. Aria and I will manage on our own.”

Corvin, eager to accompany Emma, stepped forward, but Edric quickly blocked his path.

“Edric, why are you stopping me? I need to protect Ms. Tibarn!” he protested, frustration evident in his tone.

Edric pressed his lips together, his gaze following Emma as she began to walk away. “Can’t you see? She doesn’t want us trailing behind her.”

“But… what if something happens to her?” Corvin’s voice was laced with worry, his brow furrowing.

Leaning lazily against a nearby pillar, Marcus finally straightened up, a glint of mischief in his eyes.
