Spoiled By My Nine Beast Husbands (Emma Tibarn) novel Chapter 174

**When She Opened the Door to the Life She Was Afraid to Live by Nora Vale Kingsley**
**Chapter 174: A Calculated Arrival**

Silas flung the model back onto the table with a frustrated huff. “It’s not that I’m concerned he’ll charm Emy into letting him stay. My real worry is that he has ulterior motives—he could very well hurt her.” His voice dripped with tension, the weight of his words hanging heavy in the air.

That man, Malrik, was far too ambitious, too focused on his own goals. It was nearly impossible not to see through his facade. Only someone as naive as Corvin would fall for his deceitful act.

Lucien, with a serious expression, leaned in closer. “I’m sharing this with you so that you remain vigilant around Malrik. I’ll arrange for someone to investigate him.” His tone was urgent, underscoring the gravity of the situation.

“Edric is on the verge of a breakthrough, Silas has his own responsibilities, and Corvin is unreliable—so Marcus, it falls to you to fill the gaps. When Emma is alone, you must not leave her side. We can’t afford to give Malrik even a moment alone with her.”

Marcus nodded, a determined look crossing his face. He turned to Lucien, seeking clarification. “Should I stay with Ms. Tibarn even while she sleeps?”

Lucien met his gaze, affirming, “Yes, whenever we can’t be with her, you need to be there.”

Marcus accepted the directive without hesitation, a sense of purpose igniting within him.

Edric, unable to contain his curiosity, interjected, “Aren’t we going to inform Emma about all this?”

Lucien glanced at Silas, whose eyes threatened to roll in exasperation. “We will tell her. When I’m with Emy tonight, I’ll make sure to discuss it.”

Two hours later, Emma stepped out of her room, only to find Silas stationed protectively at her door. “Why weren’t you waiting in your room?” she asked, a hint of surprise lacing her tone.

“I missed you,” he confessed, his voice softening. “I wanted to see you as soon as I could.”

With that, Silas swept her off her feet, cradling her in his arms and carrying her back to his room. As they entered the valley, she marveled at the sight of a new wooden cabin, its structure entwined with deep-blue vines that seemed to pulse with life. He gently set her down on the plush bed inside.

“Emy,” he asked, his eyes sparkling with anticipation, “what do you think of the cabin? Do you like it?”

The floor was adorned with a white carpet, and tiny, transparent flowers danced across the ceiling, casting shifting beams of light that felt almost ethereal.

Emma nodded, a smile breaking across her face. “I like it. It’s beautiful.”

Silas leaned in, capturing her lips in a kiss before collapsing back onto the bed, pulling her close. His voice dropped to a whisper, “Emy, what are your thoughts on Malrik?”

As her fingers deftly unbuttoned his uniform, tracing the contours of his abs, Emma hesitated. “Something feels off about him. His appearance today seemed too convenient—like it was all orchestrated.”

“I was planning to bring it up with Lucien tomorrow and ask him to look into Malrik,” she added, her mind racing with doubts.

Since the moment she had met Malrik, an unsettling feeling had settled in her chest. With Edric, Silas, and Lucien, she felt an instinctive bond, but with Malrik, it was different.
