**CONTENT: Chapter 199 The Gullible Liger Beast**

What a complete and utter fool.

How could Lucien, a figure of such high rank within the Empire, not be aware of where those links originated?

That naive imbecile didn’t even realize he was walking right into a trap!

Corvin, trapped in his own thoughts, could only imagine the chaos swirling in Malrik’s mind. He hesitated, fingers hovering over his lightcore, contemplating how best to respond to Lucien’s probing message.

Finally, he typed out, ‘I discovered them on my lightcore.’

No matter how precarious the situation became, he could never betray a brother.

Throwing Silas under the bus would mean losing the only source of guidance he had left.

And between the comfort of a full meal and the uncertainty of daily scraps, Corvin knew which side his bread was buttered on.

Lucien raised an eyebrow at the reply, momentarily impressed by the loyalty of this foolish brat.

‘That’s enough. I know Silas gave those to you.’

He knows?

Panic surged through Corvin like a tidal wave.

If Silas caught wind of this, it would spell disaster for him!

In a flurry of anxiety, Corvin quickly texted back, ‘I begged Silas to give me those, Your Highness. Please, I’m begging you not to go after Silas! It’s all my fault! I’ll even give you a level-ten insect core to make up for it!’

As long as Silas remained oblivious, Corvin was even ready to part with the precious level-ten insect core he had just managed to acquire.

Beside him, the little pink rabbit, Cotton Candy, covered its face with its tiny paws.

What a fool!

Lucien had merely been testing him, and yet here he was, confessing everything in a fit of panic.

Corvin waited, heart racing, for Lucien’s reply, his anxiety mounting with each passing second.

‘Your Highness, can you please say something? What do you think?’ he pleaded, desperation creeping into his voice.

Finally, Lucien responded, ‘My bad. I was working on something else just now!’

Realizing the kid had been scared enough, Lucien decided to ease off on the teasing.

He continued, ‘I won’t tell Silas or Emma about this, but you need to listen carefully—some of the things Silas sent you are absolutely not for use with Emma. They could harm her.’

‘I want a copy of everything Silas sent you. I’ll go through them and let you know which ones are safe and which ones aren’t.’

‘Remember! If Silas ever sends you this kind of stuff again, you must show it to me first. I’ll help you out.’

Corvin felt a wave of relief wash over him, grateful that neither he nor Silas would face any repercussions!

Lucien was simply warning him against using those tutorials on Emma.

With a sense of gratitude, Corvin sent back an emoji, thinking how fortunate he was to have someone like Lucien in his corner.

‘Don’t worry, Your Highness. If I ever ask Silas for those kinds of links again, I’ll forward them to you first. I won’t even look at them until you give me the green light!’

Lucien seemed satisfied with that response, replying, ‘Good. I have other matters to attend to, so take good care of Emma. Let me know when Edric wakes up.’

‘Got it,’ Corvin replied, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders.
