**TITLE: When She Opened the Door to the Life She Was Afraid to Live by Nora Vale Kingsley**
**Chapter 200: What Sort of Tutorial Was That?**

Just as Emma was about to step out of the room, she felt a sudden, firm grip around her wrist. Startled, she turned to see Marcus’s intense gaze fixed on her, a mix of urgency and something else swirling in his eyes.

“What is it?” she asked, a frown creasing her brow as confusion washed over her.

There was something undeniably strange about Marcus today. His demeanor was off, almost as if he were a different person entirely.

Could it be that he was truly in his heat period? The thought sent a shiver down her spine, mingling curiosity with concern.

Marcus raised his other hand, pointing at his face with an expression that was both earnest and perplexing. “I want one too,” he declared, his voice low and serious.

Emma was left momentarily speechless, her mind racing.

What on earth was going on with him? He had always been a bit enigmatic, but this was different. He remained silent even when she probed him with questions, leaving her to wonder about the thoughts swirling within his mind. Yet, despite the confusion, she felt an inexplicable urge to comfort him. Leaning in, she placed a quick, tender kiss on his cheek before hastily retreating into the resting cabin.

As Marcus stood there, watching her retreating figure, he felt a strange mix of emotions. His heart raced wildly, pounding against his chest as if trying to escape. Today had been a whirlwind of feelings, but oddly enough, it felt invigorating.

Inside the cabin, Emma approached Edric, her heart heavy with concern.

He was still in a deep slumber, his breathing slow and steady, a reassuring rhythm that suggested he was slowly regaining his strength after his recent advancement.

Kneeling beside him, she pressed her lips gently against his cheek, feeling the warmth of his skin. She had shared kisses with Corvin and Marcus, so it only felt right to include her little Edric in this silent exchange of affection.

After ensuring he was alright, she selected a fresh set of clothes and made her way to the shower, the warm water cascading over her, washing away the tension of the day.

When she emerged, the savory aroma of dinner wafted through the air, instantly making her stomach growl.

To her surprise, Marcus was not lounging in his usual crystal coffin. Instead, he was actively engaged in the kitchen, assisting Corvin with the meal preparation.

As Emma approached, she found Marcus diligently juicing a vibrant assortment of fruits.

The moment he spotted her, his face lit up, and he swiftly grabbed a glass of the freshly pressed juice. With a flick of his ice ability, he chilled it to perfection before presenting it to her.

“It’s made from those red fruits today, Ms. Tibarn. Try it!” he exclaimed, his enthusiasm infectious.

Marcus couldn’t quite recall the name of the fruit, but since Emma had referred to it as a cherry, he followed suit, eager to impress her.

The deep crimson juice brought back vivid memories of their earlier kiss in the forest, igniting a warmth in her cheeks.

Surprisingly, despite his usual stiffness, Marcus excelled in this task, showcasing a side of him that Emma hadn’t fully appreciated until now.

With a shy smile, she accepted the glass, taking a sip that sent a wave of refreshing sweetness and tanginess dancing across her palate.

“It’s delicious!” she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with delight.

As the chilled cherry juice touched her lips, Marcus’s gaze fixated on the tiny red stain at the corner of her mouth. He felt his throat tighten, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he swallowed hard, a sudden urge to get closer to her bubbling within him.

Just as he was about to step forward, Emma turned abruptly.

“I’ll go see what Corvin’s making for dinner,” she said, her voice slightly breathless.
