Spoiled By My Nine Beast Husbands (Emma Tibarn) novel Chapter 201

**When She Opened the Door to the Life She Was Afraid to Live**
**by Nora Vale Kingsley**
**Chapter 201: Curiosity in HD**

Emma blinked in disbelief at the unexpected message flashing on her screen, her head tilting slightly in confusion. Tutorials? Her mind raced. Could it possibly be the same kind of “tutorial” that Marcus had been secretly engrossed in earlier? The thought sent a thrill of curiosity through her, but also a wave of apprehension.

She hesitated, hovering her cursor over the link that Aria had sent her, but ultimately decided against clicking it. “Yeah, right. I’ll check it later… when I’m home,” she muttered under her breath, casting a cautious glance around the room to ensure no one was paying attention. The last thing she wanted was to find herself trending online for all the wrong reasons, just like Marcus had.

Aria, ever observant, caught the flicker of hesitation in Emma’s demeanor and smirked knowingly. She understood perfectly—this was not the kind of content one indulged in while surrounded by others.

As dinner came to a close, the atmosphere settled into a comfortable silence.

Aria was the first to excuse herself, citing a need for rest. Emma, upon returning to the common area, found that Corvin and Marcus had already finished their meal and tidied up the space outside the rest pod.

Marcus was reclined in his crystal coffin, his fingers deftly scrolling through his lightcore. His expression remained inscrutable, but Emma couldn’t shake the memory of what she had seen him “studying” earlier. It was best to maintain some distance, she decided. No reason to make things awkward between them.

No wonder he’s so skilled—clearly, he’s been doing a lot of “homework,” she mused as she stepped into the rest pod. Corvin was sprawled on the couch, his lightcore casting a soft blue hue across his features. He seemed deeply engrossed in reports, the faint glow illuminating the tension in his brow.

In the corner, Cotton Candy, their mischievous little furball, was lurking, likely plotting his next escapade.

“Hey, Emma. You’re back,” Corvin greeted, his eyes lifting to meet hers.

Emma waved him off dismissively. “Keep working, Corvin. I’m calling it a night.”

She had spent the entire day trudging through the wasteland, hunting for rare fruits, and her legs felt heavy, as if they were made of lead.

Corvin nodded, reclining further into the couch. “Got it. Sleep easy, Emma. Marcus and I are on watch tonight. No beast is getting near you.”

“Mm-hmm.” A faint smile tugged at her lips, but she was too exhausted to say anything more. With that, she slipped into her room, ready to collapse into bed.

Meanwhile, outside, Corvin finally gathered the courage to open the link Silas had shared earlier. The moment the video began to play, his lightcore erupted with sound, nearly causing him to drop it in shock.

What the Silas! Are you kidding me? Panic surged through him as he fumbled to mute it, his face turning crimson as the noise echoed ominously in the stillness of the room. One quick glance at the screen confirmed his worst fears—this was far from educational content.

Just as the video reached its “climactic moment,” a shadow fell over him.

“Holy—” Corvin nearly transformed into his beast form as Marcus appeared behind him like a specter. “Marcus! Dude, what the hell? You’re creeping around at this hour? Trying to give me a heart attack?”

He thought to himself, How does this guy move without making a sound?

Corvin hastily shut off the screen, attempting to regain his composure. Marcus, however, remained unfazed. Instead, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a couple of insect cores, offering them to Corvin.

Corvin blinked in confusion. “Wait—what’s this for? Don’t tell me you’ve already watched everything Silas sent?”
