**Chapter 221: A Box Full of Tears**

As Silas stood at the threshold, he stepped aside with a welcoming gesture. “Come in,” he said, his voice a mix of warmth and authority.

Kieran, filled with gratitude, nodded and stepped into Silas’ room, the door closing softly behind him.

The space was modest yet thoughtfully designed, each room in their shared quarters boasting a small sitting area crafted from spatial stones, resembling the cozy living room downstairs but on a more intimate scale, stripped of excess.

Once they settled into the lounge, Silas poured a glass of water, the clear liquid shimmering in the light as he set it before Kieran. “Why do you need my leaves?” he inquired, his tone curious yet probing.

Kieran did not shy away from the truth. “I discovered that consuming your leaves significantly improved my condition. If you could provide me with more, I believe my illness could clear up swiftly.”

Silas recalled Lucien’s words about the Merfolk, who had claimed that Kieran was afflicted with a peculiar ailment. It was a condition that, when it struck, forced him to abandon his human form, retreating back into the water, where he lost complete control over his abilities.

“How did you fall ill?” Silas asked, his brow furrowing with concern.

“It happened during a skirmish with the Chitinid. A Rank 10 bit me, and since then, I’ve been trapped in this state,” Kieran explained, a shadow of frustration flickering across his face.

Silas nodded slowly, understanding washing over him like a tide. “So that’s the cause,” he murmured, a faint smile breaking through his serious demeanor. “Many of their creatures carry potent toxins. You were poisoned by the Chitinid. My leaves can alleviate your symptoms, but they won’t cleanse the poison entirely. For that, you’ll need my flowers.”

He had witnessed such afflictions countless times on the battlefield, and the solution was clear in his mind.

With a decisive motion, he retrieved two blossoms, their vibrant colors contrasting beautifully against the dull stone of the table. He placed them in front of Kieran. “Consume these two flowers, and the toxin should be expelled. I have but one request in return—I require nothing more than some pink pearls once you recover. Is that agreeable to you?”

Kieran’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Just pearls?” he echoed, astonished by Silas’ generosity.

Silas nodded, his expression earnest. “Yes, just pink pearls. However, since you’ll be residing in the Aquadome for a few days before your return, I would appreciate it if you could deliver them to me now.”

Kieran hesitated, not out of reluctance but from uncertainty about his ability to cry.

“I’m concerned I might not be able to,” he confessed, his voice tinged with anxiety.

Silas appeared unfazed. “No need to worry. I’ll ensure you do.”

With Silas’ unwavering confidence bolstering him, Kieran pushed aside his doubts and quickly swallowed the flowers.

True to Silas’ word, the moment the blossoms slid down his throat, a surge of vitality coursed through him, washing away the heaviness that had settled in his chest like a weight.

He tested his abilities, summoning water from his palm, which flowed forth in a clean, steady stream. “My ability is back!” he exclaimed, a spark of joy igniting in his eyes. “I think I’m cured!”

Silas had provided him with flowers from the mutated Crescent Vine—blossoms imbued with genuine healing power, akin to those from the fabled Divine Tree.

“Excellent! Now, let’s get to work,” Silas said briskly, eager to make the most of their time. He wanted Kieran to attempt crying on his own first, curious to see if he could produce any pearls.

He retrieved a wooden box, its surface polished and smooth. “When you cry, catch them here,” he instructed, gesturing to the box.

If the pearls fell to the floor, they would be forced to pick them up one by one, a tedious task neither wished to undertake.
