Spoiled By My Nine Beast Husbands (Emma Tibarn) novel Chapter 273

**When She Opened the Door to the Life She Was Afraid to Live by Nora Vale Kingsley**
**Chapter 273: Drake Was Badly Injured**

The villagers were well acquainted with the formidable black dragon that often graced the presence of Maurice and Marcus. His visits were both a spectacle and a source of concern, for they knew he was not just any dragon; he was Drake, a creature of immense power and presence.

The little wolf pup had initially sought out Maurice, his heart racing with urgency. When he failed to find the elder, he turned his frantic search to Marcus, who, in the eyes of the pups, was the embodiment of the Big Devil—intimidating yet strangely compelling.

As Emma approached the base of the snow-capped mountain, her heart sank at the sight of the massive black dragon looming in the distance. Panic surged through her veins, propelling her into a sprint.

Nearby, another small wolf pup stood sentinel, its keen eyes widening in alarm as it witnessed Emma’s arrival. The moment it recognized her, it let out a series of anxious howls, a desperate plea for attention.

Emma’s breath caught in her throat as she drew closer, her worst fears confirmed. There lay Drake, motionless and vulnerable amidst the white expanse of snow.

“Drake?” she whispered, her voice trembling with dread.

She immediately recognized him; the absence of one of his dragon whiskers was unmistakable. That whisker had been lost during one of Drake’s drunken escapades, a reckless night orchestrated by Lucien and Edric, leaving her to wonder if they had played a part in his current plight.

“What happened to you?” she cried, rushing to his side, her hands trembling as she assessed his condition.

“There’s so much blood…” one of the wolf pups whimpered, its small body trembling in fear.

With a gentle paw, it began to dig in the snow, revealing Drake’s abdomen where a jagged wound marred his once-majestic form. Blood oozed from the gash, staining the pristine snow a deep crimson.

“Drake! Can you hear me?” Emma called out, desperation clawing at her throat as she repeated his name over and over. But there was no response, only the chilling silence of the mountains.

Realizing time was of the essence, she forced his mouth open and placed one of Silas’ healing flowers inside. The petals were delicate yet powerful, and she quickly crushed a few leaves, mixing them with a healing potion she had on hand. She spread the mixture over the gaping wound, praying for it to work.

To her relief, the leaves began to take effect, and the bleeding slowed, but Drake remained unconscious, his immense form still and lifeless.

They couldn’t leave him here. The treacherous weather of Frostveil was notorious for sudden blizzards, and if one struck, he would be buried alive beneath the snow, a thought that sent a shiver down her spine.

Turning to the two little wolf pups, who watched her with wide, fearful eyes, she spoke with urgency. “You need to go back and find the adults. Tell them to hurry and bring help. We need to get Drake back to the clan.”

The pups nodded vigorously, their tails wagging with determination, before darting off into the swirling snowflakes.

Emma returned her focus to Drake, her heart pounding as she administered more of the healing potion. Moments felt like hours as she waited, anxiety twisting in her stomach.

Suddenly, the black dragon stirred. His eyelids fluttered, and slowly, they opened to reveal his golden pupils, shimmering like sunlit gold against the stark white backdrop.

“Emma?” he murmured, his voice a low rasp.
