Spoiled By My Nine Beast Husbands (Emma Tibarn) novel Chapter 292

**When She Opened the Door to the Life She Was Afraid to Live by Nora Vale Kingsley**

**Chapter 292: The Father He Belongs To**

“Quite the clever maneuver on your part, Mr. Smith,” Lucien remarked, a teasing lilt in his voice. “Who would have imagined you’d concoct such a scheme just to win her favor?”

Drake shot him a frosty glance, his voice barely above a whisper. “I have no idea what you’re implying.”

As they approached his private quarters, the air thick with unspoken tension, Drake felt a familiar weight settle over him. This was a sanctuary where no interruptions were permitted during his moments of mental solace.

Lucien, resigned to waiting outside, could only stand by, his thoughts swirling with curiosity.

Meanwhile, Emma remained perched atop Drake’s head, an unwavering presence. Whenever she engaged in the mental comfort ritual, a serene silence enveloped them, her focus absolute.

Drake’s mental state was a tumultuous sea, his energy frayed and scattered. The delicate, gossamer shield he had just begun to construct was already showing signs of disintegration. Beneath the surface, the molten chaos roiled, threatening to erupt.

Fortunately, Emma had honed her skills through experience. With a practiced grace, she navigated the storm within him, calming the surging tides until they lay still, like a glassy lake at dawn.

It became clear that Drake would require these sessions regularly if he hoped to maintain the fragile mental landscape he had begun to forge. Otherwise, it would continue to dissolve, leaving him vulnerable to the chaos of his thoughts.

Outside the chamber, Silas, Corvin, and Edric finally arrived, their anticipation palpable. Eager for news, they messaged Lucien for an update.

The response came swiftly: Emma was inside, attending to Drake.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Silas commanded Thero Smith to escort them to Drake’s quarters.

Typically, Thero would have declined; after all, this was Mr. Smith’s private domain.

But these were Emma’s mates, and when Silas mentioned that his cub was with Drake, Thero found it impossible to refuse.

Upon arrival, Emma emerged from the room just as she had finished her comforting session with Drake.

Drake followed closely behind, his movements deliberate, as if each step required careful consideration. Perched contentedly between his horns, Remy bounced and howled, “Awoo… awoo…”

“Mommy! Daddy! Did you hear that? Remy’s howl is fierce, right?”

Silas halted mid-stride, his eyes widening at the sight of the tiny creature mimicking a wolf’s call.

Drake, you stoic figure. He’s my cub, and you can’t claim him.

Silas gazed at the whimsical little fruit with its high-pitched, innocent voice, pretending to howl at the sky, and felt a strange sensation wash over him.

In that fleeting moment, the warmth that had graced his face felt as if it had frozen solid, cracking like porcelain under an icy breath.

Emma, blissfully unaware, continued to engage with Remy, who yipped joyfully, “Awoo, awoo!”

“Remy, you’re a dragon,” Drake gently corrected, a smile playing on his lips. “Dragons don’t howl. You should roar, like this! Roar!”

“Oh! So that’s how we dragons roar!”

With newfound pride, Remy puffed himself up and imitated Drake, “Roar!”

Emma remained silent, her mind racing.

The child was utterly confused.

How could she possibly convince him that he was not a dragon, but a fruit?
