Marcus’s face went dark in an instant.

Shameless.

That vine was absolutely shameless.

Using the cubs to win affection? Unbelievable.

His sharp, knife–like gaze shot straight toward Silas.

But Silas, calm as ever, acted like he hadn’t noticed. He smiled softly at Emma, serving food onto her plate with quiet care.

Emma leaned gently against him, her fingers brushing over little Remy’s tiny leaves as she murmured to the vine affectionately.

Watching them, a sudden thought popped into Marcus’s head.

If I had a cub, would it help me win her attention too?

Maybe… I should have one.

Hmm. That didn’t sound like a bad idea.

But would Ms. Tibarn even want to have one with me?

Emma, of course, had no idea what was running through Marcus’s mind.

She had just finished her meal when a message popped up on her lightcore. It was from Laura.

Laura asked, ‘Emma, are you back yet? I’m going moldy in this hospital bed! I can’t go anywhere. Do you have time to come keep me company? QAQ‘

Seeing the pitiful little emoji at the end made Emma laugh.

She typed back quickly. ‘Just finished eating. I’ll come over in a bit.’

After replying, she looked up at the group of men around her. “I’m going to visit Laura at the hospital. Anyone want to come along?”

Before she’d even finished the question, everyone answered in perfect unison, “I’ll go!”

The harmony was almost suspicious–as if these weren’t the same people who’d been squabbling for seats moments ago.

Emma chuckled. “Alright then. Let’s all go.”

She stood and told Marcus and the others to clean up the table while she went to prepare a few gifts for Laura.

She’d brought back quite a few fine items from the Aquadome–perfect to share with a friend.

Since Laura was still recovering, Emma carefully picked some gentle tonic herbs and nourishing supplements as well.

Then Drake walked up, looking at her with pleading eyes. “Emmy, can I come too?”

Earlier, Corvin had told him that she was taking her mates along. But Drake wasn’t her mate yet, so he didn’t dare follow without permission.

It had already been three days since he’d last seen Emma. He missed her terribly.

He wanted, more than anything, to hold her hand like Silas did–but he knew he couldn’t. Not yet.

So just being near her, even without touching, was enough for now.

He couldn’t stand the thought of her leaving his sight, not even for a moment.

Emma hadn’t planned to take him along, but then she remembered his unstable mental power. Leaving him alone at home could be dangerous.

After a brief hesitation, she nodded. “Alright, you can come. Let’s all go together.”

Drake’s eyes lit up with surprise and joy. He stepped forward and hugged her—just once, quickly—and released her before she could even react.

A few minutes later, the group had tidied up, grabbed the gifts, and boarded the airship headed for the hospital.

When they arrived and stepped off, they immediately spotted someone familiar.

“Kael? What’s he doing here?”

Edric frowned, his gaze locking onto the tall figure in the distance. “This hospital only treats pregnant females.”

And sure enough, beside Kael stood a young female.

She wasn’t tall–petite, delicately built, but with graceful curves that drew the eye. Her features were refined and strikingly beautiful.

Right now, she was looking up at Kael with a soft, watery smile, speaking to him in a gentle

voice.
