“Our Dahlia is so adorable,” Kael murmured tenderly, brushing away a small tear from the corner of her eye with his thumb. “If Emma doesn’t want to be your friend, that’s her loss, not yours. Don’t be sad over someone who isn’t worth it.”

His voice softened further as he smiled at her. “You’re carrying our cub now, and the doctor said you need to stay happy–smile more, for both of you.”

Meanwhile, Emma and her companions stepped into the elevator.

Silas spoke first, “Emma, I just checked. Kael and that female–Dahlia–are here for an examination. She’s already pregnant with his cub.”

Because Silas could communicate with all plant life, he had quietly confirmed the news through the hospital’s greenery while Emma was speaking with Dahlia.

Emma didn’t look surprised. “That’s about what I expected,” she said calmly.

Females who came here were usually either visiting patients or getting prenatal exams. The moment she’d seen Kael and Dahlia outside, she’d already guessed it.

Lucien thought for a moment, then said, “That means Dahlia really might be a human female. Kael’s already a level ten peak. The higher a therian’s level, the harder it is to conceive. Only a human female could get pregnant so easily.”

“Dahlia’s identity has already spread quietly among the Empire’s upper ranks. I have a feeling it won’t stay secret for long. Once it’s out, every unmated level nine and level ten male in the Empire will fight to bond with her.

“And once they do, they’ll find a way to get her blood. Now imagine one of those males is our enemy—and he uses her blood to break through level eleven, becoming a level twelve powerhouse.”
