Chapter 327 Don’t Be Mad
But no matter how terrifying Marcus’s ability was, he could never overpower the Beast God.
Lucien added quickly, “Emma’s right. Marcus, you absolutely cannot take that risk.”
Corvin had been trying to follow the conversation for a while–he finally caught up and nodded earnestly. “Marcus, Lucien’s right. You mustn’t do anything reckless.”
Emma stepped closer to Marcus, her expression firm and serious. “You heard them. Don’t you dare risk yourself. And besides, what Silas said might never even happen.”
Even if it did happen, she wasn’t afraid. If things ever reached the point where their lives were truly in danger, she’d use her blood to help Lucien and the others ascend in level.
If it came down to life or death, she wouldn’t hesitate to expose her secret.
But for now, none of that had happened yet–talking about it was far too early.
A soft ‘ding‘ sounded, and the elevator doors slid open.
As they stepped out, they were greeted by Laura’s mate waiting in the hallway.
“Ms. Emma Tibarn, you’re finally here. Ms. Jones is waiting for you in her room.”
Lucien and the other males couldn’t enter the patient ward.
Laura’s mate nodded politely to them. “Gentlemen, please follow me. I’ll take you to the lounge to wait.”
Lucien inclined his head in acknowledgment. “Emma, go ahead and visit Ms. Jones. We’ll wait for
you there.”
“Alright,” Emma said, nodding as she headed toward Laura’s room.
The door was left slightly ajar. When she reached it, she saw Laura half–reclined on the bed, looking healthier than before.
Next to her sat a stranger—a male in a crisp white shirt, his demeanor gentle and refined, almost scholarly. He was feeding her slices of fruit with quiet attentiveness.
Their movements were so natural and intimate that even the air between them seemed warm with familiarity. Laura looked up at him, her expression soft, eyes smiling.
Emma blinked. Well, this is new.
Knock! Knock! Knocking twice against the doorframe, she called lightly.
Both of them turned toward the sound.
“Emma!” Laura’s eyes lit up instantly. “Come in!”

She the male beside her a little nudge. “Caven, could you step out for a bit? I’ll call you back when I’m done.”
Caven nodded obediently. Setting the fruit bowl aside, he rose with graceful composure, tidied up the table, and gave Emma a polite nod in greeting before heading for the door.
As he left, he even closed the door gently behind him.
Once they were alone, Emma placed the gifts she’d brought on the bedside table and smiled.
“Laura, that man–he’s your new mate, isn’t he?”
Judging by their closeness, he clearly wasn’t just a follower.
Laura’s face flushed a little, but she nodded with a happy smile. “Yes. His name’s Caven Aether. He’s my new mate.”
She straightened up slightly, then teased, “Well? What do you think of him? Isn’t he handsome?”
Emma laughed softly. “He’s got a refined look, and he seems like a good man. You really are something, Laura.”
Laura chuckled at the compliment, but Emma’s curiosity got the better of her. “Wait, weren’t you stuck in the hospital all this time? How did you manage to meet him?”
She hadn’t even reached her next match cycle, and she hadn’t been discharged either. So how did Caven come into the picture?
At that, Laura’s cheeks reddened even more. “He’s Rowan’s older brother. A few days ago, Rowan asked him to bring me some things. Since then, he’s been coming every day… and, well, he doesn’t exactly hide how he feels about me. He’s handsome, strong, and high–ranked—I liked him too, so… things just happened.”
Emma was speechless.
So the older brother swooped in while the younger one was home caring for a cub? From brothers to
