Chapter 331 Food Heals The Soul
Aria looked at her mate anxiously.
She’d put in so much effort just to convince the doctor to come with her, so they had to at least get Lucien examined.
Besides, they were doing this to ensure Emma’s happiness. Lucien couldn’t just ignore his “illness” out of pride.
Aria’s mate was not about to provoke Lucien further. Heck, he had no desire to do so at all.
So, he could only reason with her.
“Ms. Veynar, it’s clear that His Highness isn’t interested in treatment. So, it’s likely he wouldn’t cooperate even if you drag him here. I think we should wait for him to come to us. He’ll look for a doctor once he’s ready, no pushing required.”
Another one of Aria’s mates chimed in, “He’s right, Ms. Veynar. His Highness isn’t exactly known for his mild temper. Besides, he doesn’t even listen to Her Majesty, so he’s never going to listen to you.”
Then, he added, “Ms. Veynar, we can’t dawdle here any longer. Her Majesty has made it clear that you are to make an appearance during the banquet tonight. We should go.”
Aria caved after hearing her mates out.
“Fine, we’ll return to attend the banquet.”
Although she’d given a verbal agreement to drop it, she was already thinking of another way to make Lucien get a checkup.
Since he wouldn’t listen to her, she’d just have to discuss things over with Emma.
After all, Emma was his mate. Thus, there’s no way he’d dare dismiss her concerns.
By the time Lucien returned to the dining room, all the ingredients Emma had prepared were already arranged neatly on the table.
Kieran had also been invited to join them for a meal.
When Emma caught sight of Lucien, she happily waved him over. “Lucien, come join us!

Dinner’s almost ready.”
The dark look on Lucien’s face was quickly replaced with a smile as he walked over and sat down next to her.
He glanced at the table, noticing that it was filled with raw ingredients from uncooked vegetables to pieces of neatly cut beast meat. So, he couldn’t help but ask, “Emma, how are we supposed to eat this?”
Emma chuckled and picked up a piece of beast meat. Then, she placed it into a pot of rich, bubbling broth simmering in the middle of the table.
“You just have to dip the meat in and let it cook for a bit. Once it’s tender, you can take it out and dip it in the sauce I made.”
She then placed the cooked meat into Lucien’s bowl. “Have a taste and tell me what

A rich yet spicy flavor immediately overwhelmed his taste buds. It was delicious.

you think.”
They wanted a taste of that, too. More specifically, they wanted a taste of something that was cooked by Emma herself.
Kieran kept to himself, his eyes glinting with envy. However, he was only Emma’s follower at the moment. Thus, he couldn’t even bring himself to think that Emma would extend such kindness to him.
Silas didn’t even bother looking at the others. Instead, he mimicked Emma’s movements. Soon, he had a piece of perfectly cooked meat ready and promptly placed it into her bowl.
“Emma, give it a try. How does it taste?”
“Thank
you, Silas.”
Emma smiled and popped the meat into her mouth, her eyes crinkling with delight.
It had been so long since she was able to enjoy stew like this.
Corvin and the others exchanged enlightened glances upon seeing Silas‘ actions.
If Ms. Tibarn wasn’t going to cook for them, they could just cook for her instead!

Marcus and Edric weren’t about to be left to the dust. Drake noticed that and hurried to follow.
Kieran hesitated momentarily before slipping a few pieces into the pot as well.
“Emma, try mine too!” Corvin exclaimed eagerly, scooping the first cooked piece and placing it
in her bowl.
“Mine’s done too, Emma,” Edric chimed in almost instantaneously.
Marcus and Drake remained silent, choosing to respond with their actions by depositing a perfectly cooked piece of meat into her bowl.
Even the usually quiet and introverted Kieran mustered the courage to place his offering into her bowl.
Soon, Emma could only stare as her bowl creaked under the weight of the meat inside it.
Silas couldn’t help but chuckle softly at the sight. Then, he cheekily added a few greens on top of the mountain of meat. Finally, he said warmly, “Emma, you can’t just eat meat. You need to maintain a balanced diet.”
