Chapter 332 No Cheating Involved
Emma wanted to reach Rank 8 before the Celestara Gala.
After she went upstairs, Corvin, who had just finished tidying up the kitchen, immediately sought Lucien out.
“Lucien, shouldn’t we discuss who’ll be keeping Emma company tonight?”
Lucien had bonded with Emma a few days ago. It would’ve been fine, except he’d also been monopolizing her for days.
He couldn’t possibly be thinking about doing the same thing tonight, could he?
Lucien nodded calmly. “You’re right.”
Then, he turned to the other males standing in the living room and asked, “What do think? Should we draw lots, or do you want me to keep arranging things?”
you all
Corvin promptly said, “You do it.”
He wasn’t about to draw any lots. His luck was terrible.
Marcus added, “I don’t mind if you’re the one arranging things, but maybe we should switch up the order?”
It wasn’t fair that Edric was always first..
Lucien didn’t reply, choosing to turn to Silas and Edric. “Any thoughts, gentlemen?”
Edric replied, “I’ll go with the majority.”
Silas shrugged. “I’m fine with anything.”
It wasn’t as if he could do anything right now, so any day was fine.
Lucien nodded agreeably. “In that case, we’ll have Emma decide. I’ll write our names on paper slips, and whichever name she draws first will stay with her tonight. The rest will follow in that order.”
Marcus tilted his head. “That works.”
Corvin nodded as well. “I’m fine as long as I’m not the one drawing.”

He trusted Emma’s luck.
Emma found Lucien waiting for her with a black box when she left the training room that night.
“What’s that?” she asked.
“We’re using this to draw lots,” he replied. Then, he proceeded to tell her about their discussion and the verdict.
“Emma, they wanted me to be in charge of this, but I wasn’t sure whether it would be fair. So, I figured it’d be best if you drew the lots. Everyone would be happier this way.”
Frankly, he could actually do it without involving Emma.
It was just that he also had plans of his own.
As her first mate, he was supposed to be benevolent by arranging himself to be the last one on the list.
That was the problem. He didn’t want to be last.
So, this was the best way to keep everyone happy.
get.
No one would pull any dirty tricks if Emma’s involved. This was as foolproof as it could
Emma’s eyes landed on the black box, and she couldn’t help but feel as though she was an empress picking one of her concubines to serve her for the night.
It was… oddly exhilarating.
Thus, she reached into the box and felt around, noting that there were several identical folded paper slips.
She shuffled around before finally picking one.
Corvin, Edric, Marcus, and Silas were waiting with bated breath,
“Who do you think Emma will draw first?” Corvin whispered nervously, his palms sweaty.
“Anyone but Lucien,” Marcus muttered dully.
Lucien had already been hogging Emma’s attention for three whole days. If Emma picked up

the slip with his name… That would only prove that there was no justice in this world.
“Emma’s pretty lucky. I’m definitely going to be picked first,” Corvin said confidently.
Edric and Silas both shot him a look.
Soon, they heard Emma’s muffled voice through the door. “Here we go. Should I open it and
see who it is?”
The four males tensed immediately, their hearts leaping to their throats.
Even Silas, who had claimed that he couldn’t be bothered, found himself hoping that he would be the lucky star of the night. It didn’t matter that all he could do was hold her while she slept. That was enough for him.
Meanwhile, Emma slowly unfolded the paper slip.
She soon saw a name written in bold strokes–Lucien Veynar.
She stared at it, utterly speechless.
Then, she looked away from the paper and stared at Lucien, suspicion flickering in her eyes.
A flash of surprise appeared on Lucien’s face before he hastily defended himself, “Emma, I swear to the Beast God that I didn’t cheat.”
Although he sounded frantic, the slight smile on his lips betrayed his delight.
