Spoiled By My Nine Beast Husbands (Emma Tibarn) novel Chapter 339

**When She Opened the Door to the Life She Was Afraid to Live by Nora Vale Kingsley**

**Chapter 339: The Imposter**

Yet, beneath the chaotic swirl of emotions, there resided an unwavering, incandescent love for her.

But the figure standing before her was not the man she cherished; his frailty felt premeditated, almost as if he had rehearsed every moment of this encounter. His gaze, while undeniably fixated, harbored a deeper darkness—a twisted, unsettling possessiveness that sent shivers down her spine.

This isn’t Malrik. It’s Merlin—the very one Lucien and Silas had dispatched before.

With a grim determination, Emma pulled Silas back, taking two measured steps away as her eyes locked onto the bloodied figure sprawled on the ground. “You’re Merlin,” she declared, her voice steady despite the tumult within her.

Merlin’s body stiffened, the color draining from his face as if the very life force within him had been siphoned away. He hadn’t anticipated her piercing insight; he had believed his disguise impenetrable, his performance flawless—or so he had thought.

Admitting defeat was not an option for him. Desperation clawed at his insides as he attempted one last bluff. “Ms. Tibarn, what are you talking about? I am Malrik! I risked everything to scale Beast God Mountain for your sake, and now you dare to doubt me?” His voice quivered, eyes wide with a feigned sense of injustice.

“Shut up!” Emma shot back, her voice icy as she glared down at the battered man. “Malrik would never gaze at me in such a way. His eyes sparkled with light and warmth. Yours, however, are tainted with greed, selfishness, and decay.”

The certainty in her voice shattered the last remnants of Merlin’s facade. Slowly, he straightened his posture, a twisted smile creeping across his lips. His expression morphed into something cold and manic—almost deranged.

“Heh… as sharp as ever, Ms. Tibarn,” he mocked, clapping his hands in a derisive manner. “I must admit, I didn’t think you’d be so difficult to deceive. You’re right; I’m not that fool of a brother I have.”

Emma narrowed her eyes, a storm brewing within her. “Where’s Malrik? What have you done to him? Why do you possess his lightcore?”

Merlin’s grin widened, a cruel glint dancing in his eyes as his voice dripped with malice. “Ah, my dear brother… Why don’t you take a wild guess?”
