Spoiled By My Nine Beast Husbands (Emma Tibarn) novel Chapter 349

**When She Opened the Door to the Life She Was Afraid to Live by Nora Vale Kingsley**

**Chapter 349: How’s Malrik Doing?**

Emma nodded, her mind racing. This was not the moment for a deep discussion; the urgency of their situation pressed heavily on her. Without hesitating, she gently urged Aria to follow Lucien and the others as they boarded the airship, the metallic hum of its engines filling the air.

It wasn’t until they had soared beyond the borders of the Enchanter Clan’s territory, the landscape below shrinking into a blur, that Emma finally turned to Lucien, her heart pounding with concern.

“Lucien, how’s Malrik doing?” she asked, her voice laced with anxiety. “Is he badly hurt?”

Emma’s imagination conjured images of Malrik, perhaps battered and bruised, suffering from some grievous injury.

“Malrik, he…” Lucien’s voice faltered, hesitation evident in his expression. He seemed to wrestle with the words, clearly unsure of how to convey the gravity of the situation.

How was he to confess the mishap that had rendered Malrik unable to speak, a consequence of their well-meaning but misguided treatment?

Noticing Lucien’s struggle, Edric stepped forward, his voice steady as he attempted to alleviate Emma’s worries.

“Emma, Malrik’s situation is a bit complicated. He…”

“What’s wrong with him?” Emma’s heart raced as she sensed the tension in the air, the way the men fumbled for answers.

“Is he seriously injured? Is he dying?”

“No,” Edric interjected quickly, shaking his head with urgency. “Malrik’s all healed up. Every wound, inside and out, is gone. Even his ability is back up to Rank 11.”

Relief washed over Emma at the news that Malrik was physically well, but as she observed the three men before her, their guilty expressions raised a new wave of concern. “If Malrik’s truly healed, shouldn’t you be celebrating? Why do you all look so nervous?”

Aria, who had been quietly observing, interjected with a curious gaze directed at Lucien. “Lucien, are you hiding something from Emma? And why didn’t Malrik come with you? If he’s better, why was he sent back to the manor first?”

Her questions echoed Emma’s own thoughts, amplifying the unease that hung in the air like a thick fog.

Emma’s eyes darted from Lucien to Edric and finally settled on Corvin, who seemed to shrink under her gaze. “Corvin, what’s going on?”

Suddenly put on the spot, Corvin stiffened, his expression turning sheepish as he met Emma’s concerned eyes.

In a barely audible whisper, he confessed, “Emma, I’m sorry. We accidentally made Malrik dumb.”

Emma blinked in disbelief, her mind struggling to process his words. “What?”

She stared at Corvin, hoping she had misheard him, but the gravity of the situation was unmistakable.

“Emma, here’s what happened…” Lucien rushed to explain the entire ordeal, the weight of their mistake evident in his tone.

By the end of his explanation, he looked genuinely remorseful. “Emma, I’m so sorry. We really just wanted to help. We never thought this would happen.”

Emma could see the guilt etched on Lucien and the others’ faces. She took a deep breath, her heart softening. “I believe you.”

Deep down, she knew that none of them would ever intentionally harm Malrik.

As the airship touched down at the manor, Emma stepped off, her mind still swirling with thoughts of Malrik.

Upon entering the living room, she was greeted by an unexpected sight: Malrik was gleefully holding a large, exotic fruit, dashing toward Marcus as if he had stumbled upon a hidden treasure.

“Daddy, I found the yummiest fruit! You have to try it!” Malrik exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
