**Chapter 353: Malrik has Lost the Plot?**

Edric emerged from the confines of the room, his mind racing with thoughts, and immediately spotted Emma standing at the top of the staircase, her posture tense with apprehension. He approached her with purpose. “Emma,” he called out, his voice steady but laced with urgency.

As her eyes locked onto his, she instinctively pointed downward, her voice trembling with concern. “Edric, what’s going on? When did Malrik wake up? How did he end up in this state again? Has the doctor seen him?” The questions spilled from her lips in a frantic rush, her shock still clinging to her like a heavy cloak.

Edric glanced over at Marcus and Malrik, who appeared to share a moment of blissful father-son connection, and then he turned back to Emma, his expression softening. “Malrik opened his eyes about an hour ago. The instant he regained consciousness, he began calling for his daddy,” he explained gently, hoping to calm her racing heart.

“I already had the doctor from Aurelia check on him,” he continued, but a hint of hesitation crept into his voice. “The doctor mentioned that Malrik had been administered far too many holy medicines in the past. His body simply cannot handle that kind of power. Additionally, the Enchanter Clan gave him an Enchanter’s Aphrodisiac. The clash of those two forces within him has likely led to hallucinations, leaving his mind in a rather unstable state…”

“Unstable?” Emma echoed, her brow furrowing in disbelief.

A chilling thought struck her like a bolt of lightning: So, in essence, he’s lost his mind?

Her heart plummeted, as if a heavy weight had suddenly gripped it, twisting painfully.

She turned her gaze downward, her eyes falling upon the man who was joyfully interacting with Marcus.

A wave of sorrow washed over her, deepening her empathy for him.

“Then… is there still hope for treatment?” she asked in a hushed voice, a tremor betraying the calm facade she tried to maintain.

Edric, noticing the worry etched on her face as she observed Malrik, softened his tone further. “The doctor is working on a prescription right now. He’s not entirely sure how effective it will be. We need to try the medication and see how it goes.”

Just as he finished speaking, Marcus suddenly looked up, his eyes locking onto Emma.

The moment he recognized her presence, it was as if he had discovered a glimmer of hope in a dark abyss. “Ms. Tibarn!” he exclaimed, urgency lacing his voice.

With a burst of energy, he shoved Malrik aside and bounded up the stairs, practically flying over the steps. His gaze locked onto her, filled with a raw, pleading desperation. “Ms. Tibarn, please help me. Malrik is going to be the death of me!”

Malrik, too, had spotted her on the staircase, and his face transformed into a radiant smile, illuminating the tension in the air.

He rushed toward Emma, exclaiming, “Ms. Tibarn!”

The moment his eyes met hers, clarity returned to him, his expression devoid of confusion—he seemed entirely stable.

Edric and Marcus exchanged concerned glances, their brows furrowing in unison.

So, he returns to normal the instant he sees her? they thought, bewildered by the sudden shift.

As Malrik sprinted toward her, the clarity in his gaze vanished the moment he noticed Marcus leaning against her.

With a swift motion, he yanked Marcus’ arm aside, his strength surprising. “Daddy!” he shouted, his voice dripping with indignation.

His eyes burned with fury as he glared at Marcus. “Ms. Tibarn is mine! How can you be leaning on her?”

A sharp pain shot through Marcus at the sound of that echoing “daddy,” a reminder of his own frustrations.
