SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God novel Chapter 264

Chapter 264: We meet again?

Damon pulled up the quest from the alchemist again to take a look. He hadn’t made any progress in the quest at all and wanted to grasp all its details first before attempting the main quest chain. He willed for the quest chain to open up, and immediately, a system interface popped in front of him.

[Ding! Legacy of the Lost Alchemist]

You have discovered the hidden legacy of the forgotten master alchemist known as Ouroboros. Thought mad and long erased from public records, he once tried to break the limits of alchemy, body, and soul.

Buried across the continent are three Volumes of his lost journals. Each contains experimental notes, forbidden formulas, and unfinished breakthroughs. They detail a world-shaking theory: "Through alchemy, a vessel may surpass mortality. Through soulbrew, immortality itself may be brewed."

Those who can uncover and comprehend all three volumes will not only inherit Ouroboros’s techniques... They will inherit his unfinished legacy.

Volume I: Discovered in Kilaris City (Alchemy District – Old Shack) 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

Title: "Heir of Ouroboros" (Unlocks unique alchemy subclass options)

Artifact Reward: Unknown (Rumored to be a Philosopher’s Stone variant)

****

Damon re-read the quest many times, and yet again, he was perplexed about the generous rewards of the quest. While the Earth Online game in general gave rewards for quests, it was seldom this lavish, especially not in the early to mid stages of the game.

For a quest to dangle a legacy skill, a subclass title, and possibly an artifact on par with the Philosopher’s Stone... it was rather suspicious, or its difficulty level was secretly off the charts. This was one of the reasons why Damon hadn’t gotten to the quest just yet, but now he kind of had to see this through no matter what.

This soulbrew thing could directly just heal him up from top to bottom, which would be the best case scenario. Healing a small percentage would also be acceptable, as it would help him regain some of his strength and give him more time. A lot was riding on this quest.

Wait. He still had that worn-out book he had obtained from the alchemist. He took the book out and tried to read it to see if it already had some sort of solution to his problem.

Kaelthorn sighed from the side and started walking towards the dungeon portal. "I am assuming you want us to handle everything that is inside."

Damon nodded, not in the least bothered by either of their attitudes. "You can leave the blood sucking to me." He shamelessly added and walked in the same direction. "There are three mid-tier dungeons nearby. Let’s start with those ones."

As he was getting two C-ranks to do his dirty job for him, he already knew that this was going to be extremely fast, which was what he needed at the moment. He would barely get any experience points, and the loot would be less. But it was fine. Those things did not matter at the moment.

"There, my lord. Up ahead is the first dungeon portal." Ellora pointed. The group walked briskly towards the dungeon portal. Well, Riven and Damon were the slowest, and the other two walked according to their speed.

Damon could see Kaelthorn giving him disdainful looks for this, but he was completely unaffected by it. One needed to have a thick skin when milking higher ranks. Naturally, he planned to milk his three followers for everything they had.

The group quickly arrived near the dungeon when suddenly Damon stopped in his tracks. Seeing his reaction, all three immediately became alert, especially Ellora.

But Damon stopped her from taking action. This was because the person sitting cluelessly in front of the dungeon portal was none other than the muddle-headed old alchemist he had met back in the city, the one who had given him this quest in the first place.

The old man was cross-legged on a jagged slab of stone, muttering to himself as he traced invisible runes in the air with a crooked finger. His robes were more frayed than Damon remembered, and his beard looked like a bird’s nest that had survived a hurricane.
