SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God novel Chapter 282

Chapter 282: The Venom King

"Such strong resistance... interesting... but not necessary. I am merely curious. I do not mean you any harm. You are my successor after all."

Damon was panting. He could barely focus on what the snake was talking to him. The two eyes were still staring down at him with a pressure that completely suppressed him. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

In front of such a being even his aura that contained a hint of the primordial bloodline was no use at all. The creature was above it all.

Damon did not care. Whatever it was, he wasn’t about to go down without a fight. He was... His thoughts abruptly ceased as the snake in front of him all of a sudden opened its huge maw, revealing its many rows of teeth.

It then without hesitation lunged forward and snapped its jaws close, taking Damon’s head right along with it. Or atleast that’s what it felt like. Damon snapped out of it as he realized he was still whole and fine. But it was not over just yet.

The next moment an inexplicable surge of energy welled up within him. It was not mana. No. It wasn’t blood energy. In fact, it wasn’t anything he was familiar with at all. It was...

Damon went into a trance as he felt something tug at his very core. The new energy that invaded his body finally reached the farthest part of himself. A wisp of something fickle came into the spotlight.

The energy immediately dove into it. Almost immediately, the fickle little thing started burning brightly like a fire catching a drop of divine oil, wild, uncontrollable and alive.

Damon’s body arched involuntarily as his consciousness was yanked inward. He wasn’t in the temple anymore. He stood now in a boundless obsidian void, and at its center floated a translucent serpent, colossal and coiled.

"What are you, you little brat?" The snake turned its gaze upon him. "Heh. I paid a heavy price to stand in front of you like this and you still won’t reveal me your secrets? Bah! What a stingy little blood drinker!"

Damon blinked dumbly not understanding what was going on. His mind once again felt very hazy.

"Don’t worry. You will be fine in a minute. You are suddenly flush with soul energy so your body and mind are taking a moment to adjust. Right, your body. Let me take a look at your core." The snake hissed.

The next second, the playful atmosphere instantly changed as the snake froze in shock. "You! You have the blood remnants of ancient chaos! How could this be possible?"

Both Damon and the snake continued to stare at each other in silence for what felt like eternity. Finally, the snake’s image disappeared and instead stood a tall and dark handsom man with long flowing hair. His eyes though were the same serpentine eyes that shone of evil.

Serikar smirked. "Why indeed?" He paced slowly, hands behind his back. "Because I see chaos begging to be reborn and I want all those old fuckers to come join me in the graveyard." He laughed wildly.

A sudden pulse throbbed in Damon’s chest. Something inside him stirred again. He looked down to find faint markings spreading across his arms, black, vein-like sigils in the shape of coiling serpents. "What are you doing to me?" Damon gritted his teeth as pain flared up.

"Giving you a fighting chance," Serikar said simply. "I do not have much time left to talk to you. But I will say this. Your blood is both a curse and blessing. If you do not tame it soon enough, it will fully corrupt you and erode you completely until nothing of you is left."

"All it needs is a simple catalyst and it will take over. You should know this after forming such a powerful core using a drop of the true dragon blood."

Damon’s eyes widened in realization. So that wyrm had a drop of the true dragon blood?

Serikar laughed. "Listen to me. When you take your next step, be more careful. Only go for what you can handle. As for the monstrous core that you have already formed, I can help you by temporarily locking a part of it. This way your body, soul and mind won’t be shredded by the damn thing."

Just as the man stopped speaking, his slit-like eyes glowed and for a moment all Damon saw were those eyes before a blinding pain assaulted him.
