Kate and Damon were once again teleported back into the game world, the flicker of system light fading as the familiar atmosphere of Earth Online surrounded them. Her feet barely touched the ground before she staggered slightly, clutching her waist with a wince.
"I can’t believe we did that for an entire log-out session," she gasped, still half dazed, though the mana around them made her feel a lot better. Her eyes swept the horizon, widening as she realized just how much had changed in their absence.
The merpeople had done a wonderful job of clearing up all of the blood and gore and restoring the seashore to its earlier scenic state. Moreover, it looked like they were all packing up.
"Huh? Where are they going?" Kate asked.
"They are moving closer to the portal so that they can keep an eye on things."
Kate was about to say something when she instead got distracted by her system interface. Meanwhile, Ellora and Erin noticed Damon’s presence and hurriedly walked over to him to update him on everything.
Not aware of the new entries, Kate suddenly blurted out as her head snapped towards Damon, eyes wide. "Damon, I gained 5 stat points! 2 in strength, 2 in intelligence, and 1 in agility. It says here that I consumed an elixir, and I know I did not drink anything except for your... your..."
Kate flushed red and looked away when she finally saw two other faces. Ellora, with a knowing smirk, and Erin, looking curious.
"My lady, do you by any chance mean our Lord’s blood, or do you mean his-"
Kate nearly choked. "T-that’s not—!" She waved her hands wildly. "Don’t get the wrong idea!" She then realized Ellora herself had given her a way out of this hole she had dug for herself. "His blood. I mean his blood. You are correct." Kate quickly did a double-take and tried to save face.
Damon raised a brow. "Are you sure?" He then nicked the tip of his finger and controlled his poison essence so that his blood was not deadly. "Here. Try some more and see."
Kate gulped. The three in front of her were looking at her in a serious mode, not understanding her situation. Sure, there might be a chance that it was his blood, but she damn well knew that it was something else. No wonder she had felt so good when she had been doing that thing and drinking all of him. Now she understood everything.
"It’s fine. Just drink some. The effects outside the game are actually not that much because I don’t know how many of my abilities are active. In here, all the effects should be even higher. That reminds me. Here, drink this health potion as well."
Damon also took out another top-tier health potion and handed it to Kate casually. Since she was being so conscious, Damon also collected his blood in a vial and handed it to her like it was another potion.
Kate’s eyes darted between his blood collected in a vial and the health potion. Her cheeks began heating up more. Seeing him being all serious and gentle like this made her tingly all over again.
"Fuck my life." She groaned, grabbed the two bottles, and downed them one after the other. Counting on the odds that she was wrong, she waited and waited, but nothing happened. If only she could dig herself a bigger hole...
