When the roc finally landed once again on the coastal strip, everyone had different looks on their faces.
Damon hopped down with a lazy stretch. Kate followed after, legs wobbly, her flushed cheeks giving away far more than she probably wanted them to.
Mark groaned, dragging a hand over his face. "Oh, for fuck’s sake. Really? In the middle of the skies? On top of a bird made of fire?" He didn’t wait for an answer, just shook his head and walked away in another direction.
"Your sister liked it!" Damon did not forget to tease him.
"You are a dumbass!" Kate punched him with full force for that.
"Ouch." Damon acted as if her punch hurt. "What did I do? Did you not gain enough stats from you know..." He winked at her, waggling his brows.
Kate was dumbfounded at the openly vulgar remark. "You are not fucking getting any next time." She punched him again, cursed him under her breath, and then stormed into the forest, only barely hiding the shy smile on her face.
Even though it was... Cough. Cough... she was already pulling down her status screen to see how much she had gained after several rounds of... elixir consumption.
Damon laughed. "It’s fine. I have heard that make-up sex is great. Can’t wait for it." He turned, shifting his attention to the other beast.
Erin was the only one who was still standing indignantly, engaged in a fierce staring contest with the roc. Damon laughed and pulled her away. "Come. I have something I need to discuss with you."
Before they left, Damon turned and gave a few instructions to the roc. "Keep circling this area and kill anyone who doesn’t belong here. Oh, and the merpeople are our friends. So don’t go eating them."
The roc screeched, and with a single thunderous beat of its colossal wings, it once again soared into the heavens. Heat waves shimmered in its wake, molten feathers shedding faint sparks as it climbed higher, circling wide arcs above the coastline.
"I should have killed that damned bird when I had the chance." Erin hissed.
Damon smiled and patted the huge serpent, feeling her sharp scales.
Erin immediately switched to her human form, not wanting to inconvenience him. She was only wearing a two-piece bikini this time, her face stunningly beautiful despite the furious mood she was in.
Her chest particularly seemed to have undergone some change, and her boobs were enormous right now, jiggling and glistening like heaven rolled into two fun bags.
Damon’s eyes twitched, but he did not say anything about that. "Erin, I have a proposition for you. What do you think about becoming my official follower?"
As long as she became a direct blessed, then... she would truly be the luckiest person in this entire cosmos. Her blue-green eyes became dazed as she stared at Damon longingly.
Normally, Erin would have over-eagerly done something like suck on his finger or perhaps some other... indecent gesture to get her fill, but it looked like this time she was truly out of it. She simply stood like a statue, watching everything with shock and disbelief all over her face.
Damon filled the vial and held it out to her. "Drink this, Erin."
Erin gulped and accepted it as if she was accepting some sort of immortality elixir. Her hands trembled as she stared at it with reverence. The scent alone nearly drove her mad. It was pure power, divinity, and corruption blended into one intoxicating essence.
Her gaze flickered to Damon once more, silently asking for permission. He only nodded.
With a slow breath, Erin lifted the vial to her lips. The moment the blood touched her tongue, her entire body convulsed, eyes rolling back as waves of overwhelming heat and power surged through her veins.
Crimson markings bled across her skin, snaking up her arms and along her neck as though his blood was branding her. She gasped, her voice trembling with ecstasy and pain alike. "M-My Lord... it’s... it’s burning me... and yet... I’ve never felt so alive!"
