Chapter83
Reuben came out of the private kitchen and offered to take Paulette.
“No need, uncle. I’ve called a cab.”
It’s just…
Wasn’t Reuben looking for her because of his mother’s inheritance?
Today’s meal took so long, not a single word about inheritance was mentioned.
Paulette organized her words and whispered, “Uncle, my mother asked you to give me something…”
“Ah, you mean the inheritance?” Reuben clapped his hands as if just remembering, “Your mom made a will, everything is supposed to be given to you when you turn eighteen. I rushed to see you today and forgot to bring it, I’ll bring it next time along with the paperwork.”
When Paulette didn’t speak, he said again, “If you’re not sure… do you want to come back with me now?”
“No need.”
Paulette looked into his eyes, trying to see something different inside.
Too bad, there was nothing.
Reuben’s company may not be a big corporation, but after half a lifetime of wandering in the market, he has already honed his skills. Some may call it shrewdness, others may call it cunning.

Reuben laughed calmly and reassuringly, “No need to rush, it’s all yours anyway.”
The ride–hailing car arrived.
Paulette waved goodbye.
Tabitha had her hands in the pockets of her overalls, looking carefree and
a bit rebellious, “See you next time, Paula.”
Paulette nodded slightly and bent down to get into the car.
Reuben didn’t turn around until the white car was out of sight.
Strictly said, “If you keep acting up like this, just go back to Hotruesia! Do you know you almost ruined everything for me?!”
Tabitha shrugged, “What’s wrong? Are you worried about your niece?”
“You…!”
“What? Did I say something wrong?”
Tabitha chuckled, waved down a passing taxi, and said, “Afraid I’ll mess things up for you? Then don’t call me again.”
“Reuben looked at his disobedient daughter at home, he was so angry but he couldn’t do anything about it.”
I stood there for a while, and then the phone rang.
He angrily took out his phone and answered, “Speak!”
The man was silent for two seconds, then his magnetic voice said, “Mr. Murphy seems to… have some thoughts about this phone call with me?”
