Chapter 109

“You’ve got this Tyler. Kick his ass,” I say to him.

“I plan on it,” he says as he focuses on the Beast.

“Ready? GO!”

) I shout, watching Tyler take off like a shot. He’s over the rolling pads. and on the ladder climb in less than a minute, Alpha James hot on his tail.

I tilt my head, using the time to practice for sensory class. I hear the arrows whizzing and the ‘thunk‘ as they hit targets one after another. I smile. Neither man got hit by an arrow. Then it’s fire and I hear it whooshing as both men run through.

When they get to the ice, I hear Alpha James grunt, like he slipped, but he doesn’t fall. I don’t know what’s after that, I but hear the sound of something stretching and what sounds like large bodies swinging through the air, and then something smaller whistles as it flies through the air. I hear Tyler’s ‘YES‘ as he gets through the challenge, and I realize he’s almost to the end.

I jog backward, looking up and I see him. The last challenge is in view for all of us, a vertical wall about twenty–five feet high. I watch as both. Tyler and Alpha James race hard for the wall and begin climbing. About halfway up, Alpha James slides and Tyler takes the lead.

“Come on, Tyler! Come on Tyler,” I say under my breath.

“He’s going to do it,” Ezra says excitedly.

Chapter 109

He fights his way up the last six feet and when he rolls over the top, we all begin to cheer. Tyler stands and howls his dominance over the Beast.

On instinct, I lift my head and howl back at him, hearing everyone around me do the same. He punches his fists into the air and when Alpha James makes it to the top, he pulls Tyler into a congratulatory hug.

I look at Ezra. “Starting the day off right!”

“No doubt, although the bastard gets the ten points for getting through the Beast first in human form,” he says then looks at me.

“You’re going in wolf form, aren’t you?”

“Yep.”

“Damn, bad luck for me,” he says, knowing I’m going ahead of him.

“You can still defeat Alpha Daniel and get your points,” I tell him.

“Yeah, ten is better than none.

When Tyler gets back, we all congratulate him. Noah is up next, but he gets shot off at the arrows. Then it’s my turn.

Sebastian looks at me expectantly. “I challenge you, Sebastian. Wolf form.”

His smile grows and I hear Alpha James whistle. “First wolf of the semester,” he says.

“Come with me first,” he says to me, gesturing to Alpha Daniel as well.
