The Alpha Train (Christina and Sebastian) novel Chapter 246

I relay the information, then go upstairs to check on the rooms on our floor. My room is a couple doors down from where Christian is staying on,the opposite side of the hall. Shane’s room is across from mine, but farther down the hallway, there are empty rooms for special guests.

I spend the rest of the morning and early afternoon going through the rooms, making a list of what needs to be done and making sure that everything will be ready for Christian’s family to feel comfortable when they arrive on Friday.

Throughout the time I’m working, I periodically feel Christian push against the mental wall I have up. Well, he should realize that being my guardian doesn’t mean that he has unrestricted access to my mind. I leave my walls shut tight, refusing to allow him entrance.

I’m not sure what time it is when there’s a knock on the door behind me. I turn, seeing Jolie with a tray of food.

Alpha asked is you’d eaten. When I said no, he asked me to bring you a tray of food.

Where is he?I ask, walking over the take the tray from her.

He and Alpha Shane are in the pack hospital.

What are they doing there?I ask.

She shrugs. Don’t know. I just know he asked for two trays of food and when I delivered/them, he asked if you’d eaten. He’s really great, isn’t he?she asks, smiling.

I want to say no. I want to tell her he’s a complete and total jerk. But instead, I nod.

Yeah. He’s great. Thanks for the food.

Do you need help up here?she asks me looking around.

Actually, I have a list started of things we need to do before Alpha Christian’s parents arrive. Do you want what I have so far?I ask her.

Sure,” she says.

Did Alpha Christian say how long they were going to be in the pack hospital?I ask her.

No, but I think he’s planning to start afternoon warrior training today. That’s what the warriors are saying anyway.

What time?I ask her, looking at the clock.

Four o’clock, I think.

Great, thanks Jolie.

No problem, Alpha,she says.

After she leaves, I feel Christian nudging against my mind again.

I take a deep breath and settle my nerves as best I can.

What?I snap, opening the mind link.

Are you okay?

I’m fine, Christian. As I mentioned earlier, I’m perfectly capable of taking care of myself.’

That’s not what I mean, and you know it,he growls.

What do you mean?I ask snarkily.

I mean after I kissed you this morning, are you okay?he asks, surprising me by being so honest and upfront about what happened.
