Chloe frowned when she saw Andrea. “Why are you blocking my way?”

Andrea straightened up, chin raised. “Chloe, you’re already divorced from Ian. I don’t want you anywhere near lan, or his family, ever again.”

Chloe thought Andrea was out of her mind. “Andrea, who do you think you are to warn me?”

Andrea smirked. “Ian divorced you for me. That alone should tell you everything you need to know.”

Andrea said, “If you have any sense, Chloe, you’ll pack your things and get out of Kingsford for good. Never come back.”

Chloe arched a brow, smirking, “You sure you’re not gonna beg me to cure you this time?”

Andrea scoffed, “If you’re out of Kingsford and nowhere near me, I’ll be halfway cured already. I don’t need your help I can get better just fine on my own.”

Chloe stepped back onto the sidewalk, looked Andrea up and down, sizing up her outfit.

Andrea’s whole look was fake designer from head to toe–probably didn’t even break a thousand bucks.

Chloe let out a cold, mocking laugh. “Even the Hamilton family’s maids wear uniforms that cost over ten grand. Your whole look isn’t even worth a grand, and you think you can challenge me?”

Andrea looked down at her shoes, her face darkening with shame.

If only she hadn’t fallen for Miranda’s lies, ruined her own career, and gotten played by that old witch.

She wouldn’t be in this mess.

Ian wouldn’t give her a dime, and most of the money she borrowed from Vivian ended up in Chloe’s hands.

The little online loans she took out were barely enough to cover her basic bills–there was no way she could afford designer clothes.

But now, Andrea wasn’t worried anymore.

Ian had promised to let Chloe treat her, and said he’d make sure she and her son were taken care of.

Andrea thought to herself, ‘If lan gives me any money, he won’t just hand me pocket change–it’ll be a fortune, or nothing at all!

Chloe said, “Even though I’m lan’s ex–wife, if I wanted to, I could call Mrs. Hamilton right now–and trust me, the whole Hamilton family would line up to slap you silly three times a day. You really think I’m blutting?”

Andrea’s eyes flickered with all sorts of emotions.

When she spoke again, most of that arrogant edge had drained away.

She said, “Chloe, we’re both women here. Why tear each other down? I’m just giving you a heads up–now that you’re divorced from Ian, do yourself a favor and stay out of his life. Just stop trying to stay in the picture.”

Chloe let out a sigh.

She said, “Andrea, instead of flapping your gums over here, maybe you should use that energy to lock down Ian before Edward sets him up with a real high–society match. Trust me, if that happens, you’ll regret it big time.”

Chloe didn’t bother waiting for a reply–she just turned on her heel and walked away.

Andrea’s face burned with rage at Chloe’s words–she couldn’t help but stomp her foot right there on the sidewalk.

After all the scheming and maneuvering, Andrea had finally managed to see Ian and Chloe split up.

No way was she gonna let some other chick snatch Ian away before she could sink her hooks in.

Chloe crossed the street and stopped in her tracks.

‘Andrea’s dense as ever–still hasn’t figured anything out,‘ Chloe scoffed to herself.

Looks like she needed to keep her word to Ian and put Andrea under hypnosis, ASAP.

It was all the same to her–she didn’t care what kind of mess they stirred up, so long as they kept their distance and stopped bothering her.

As she walked, Chloe pulled out her phone and called Ian.

The call connected almost instantly.

Chloe said, “Bring Andrea in for an appointment on Friday morning.”

On the other end, Ian didn’t even bother to excuse himself–he just walked out of the meeting room, leaving everyone behind.

Before he could even get a word out, Chloe had already hung up.

Just after nine o’clock on Friday morning, lan showed up at the hospital with Andrea in tow.

Chloe knew full well Andrea wasn’t actually sick, but still played along–asking all the usual questions, ordering tests, just going through the motions because she had to.

After more than an hour of pointless running around, Andrea finally dragged herself back into Chloe’s office.

Noticing lan looking at her mom, Andrea quickly piped up, “Ian, I know you’ve got things to do. Since Dr. Irvine already agreed to treat me, go handle your business–my mom can stick around and keep an eye on

me.”

Ian just nodded, then walked them over to Chloe.

Chloe caught a glimpse of lan tapping on his phone. She turned, checked her own screen, and saw the message he’d just sent her.

She slipped her phone into her pocket, then faced Andrea and Laura Terry. “Family can’t come in for therapy -Andrea, you’re coming in alone with me.”

Andrea faltered, hesitation written all over her face. She gave Ian a pleading look. “Ian, I’ve really not been myself lately. Can’t you talk to Dr. Irvine and see if she’ll bend the rules, just this once? I really need my mom with me.”

But Chloe didn’t wait for Ian to say anything. She cut in, her voice cool, “If you can’t even muster a little trust in me, you might as well find another doctor. Seriously, you can leave right now.”

Chloe gave Ian a pointed look, then turned on her heel and strode straight into the treatment room, not bothering to say another word.

Andrea glanced at Ian, obviously flustered. “Ian, that’s not what I meant, really. I just… I…”

Ian kept his voice calm and gentle as he tried to soothe her. “Andrea, I went through with the divorce because she promised me you’d get the care you need. Even if you can’t trust her yet, you should still trust me, alright?”

Andrea stared at Ian, her eyes starting to glisten with unshed tears.

She whispered, voice cracking as she fought to keep it together, “Ian, did you really divorce her… because of me?”

Ian met her gaze, dead serious. “If you don’t believe me, you can go ask Chloe right now and see for yourself.”

Andrea burst into tears, nodding desperately. “Ian, I trust you.”

After saying that, Andrea urged her mom to leave. “Mom, go on home–don’t worry about me, okay? With lan here, nothing’s gonna happen to me.”

Laura Terry didn’t waste a second–she nodded enthusiastically, eyes misty, and hurried out of the hospital.

Ian pulled out a tissue and handed it to Andrea.

He said, “Let’s go, I’ll go in with you.”

Andrea obediently followed fan into the treatment room.
