Three years of marriage, countless nights of passion, and she’s twisting it into something so sordid.
Chloe lost control, a bitter laugh escaping as tears streamed down her face. “For old times‘ sake, I’ll even give you a discount. Fifty million for three years. You can forget the interest, but I’ll pay back every penny of the principal. Let’s get a divorce.”
Chloe finished and shoved the bank cards at Jill.
Sobbing, she said, “Mom, that fifty million is the price for selling my body. You can’t give it to them.”
With that, Chloe stumbled back to her room and locked the door.
Her suppressed sobs could be heard from inside. Ian, his eyes red, pounded on the door.
He slammed his body against it. “Chloe, open the door!”
Carl heard the commotion and came out of his room. Seeing lan trying to break down his sister’s door, he ignored the injury on his wrist, grabbed Ian’s collar, and punched him squarely in the face.
“Carl!” Jill, afraid things would escalate, threw herself between them.
Frank spun around, ran into the kitchen, and came back with a large kitchen knife, his eyes bloodshot. “All of you, get out!”
Ian stumbled before Frank, his eyes filled with panic. “Jill… Frank… Chloe is my wife. I never thought of it like that!”
He had let his grandfather settle accounts with Chloe only to show her the reality of the situation, to make her back down from the divorce.
While love wasn’t the reason he married her, he had never belittled her.
He had thought that getting their families together to talk things out would be enough to bring Chloe home.
He never imagined it would blow up like this.
It was the first time Miranda had seen her son so out of control. Her expression was a mix of disappointment and pain.
Shane pointed a finger in Frank’s face. “You lay a hand on my son, and I’ll make sure the entire Irvine family goes down with you.”
Frank’s hand, gripping the knife, trembled with rage.
He shielded his wife and son, his voice a low growl. “I may be an old man, but I’ll fight to the death anyone who dares to hurt my children.”

Edward gave Thomas a look, and Thomas quickly opened the door, letting in the bodyguards waiting outside.
“Let me go!”
Though lan was a skilled fighter, he was overwhelmed by the sudden rush of several bodyguards.
With Thomas and his own father in the mix, he couldn’t fight back with full force.
Seeing the bodyguards were no match for Ian, Thomas seized an opportunity to knock him unconscious from behind. They carried him out.
Shane shot Chloe’s parents a warning glare before storming out.
At this point, Miranda knew there was nothing more to say. She remained silent.
Before leaving, Edward delivered the final word. “Since the girl has put it that way, we’ll waive the interest. I’ll have my lawyers handle the divorce. From now on, the Irvines and the Hamiltons have no reason to see each other again.”
With her back to Edward, Jill said, “We couldn’t be happier.”
After the Hamiltons left, Jill knocked on her daughter’s door.
Chloe opened it and fell into Jill’s arms, repeating, “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.”
Her time working abroad had shown her how hard it was to make a living.
She knew she still had so much to learn and a long way to go in her field.
She couldn’t support her parents and brother yet.
That’s why she had to secure some savings for them.
For the first time in her life, she had thrown away her pride for money, even at the expense of her own parents.
Chloe cried, and Jill cried with her.
Carl and Frank stood on either side of the doorway, their eyes red.
Over an hour later, Jan woke up at Hamilton Manor.
“Go back inside, Mom, Dad. Don’t worry, Eric’s car will be here any minute,” Chloe urged them.
After a few more words of caution, Jill and Frank turned and went back inside.
Chloe stood by the road, texting Eric.
When she looked up and saw Ian getting out of his car, her expression immediately hardened.

Chapter 64
He looked just as haggard as she felt.
He walked heavily toward her and reached for her suitcase. Tll take you to the airport
Chloe pulled the suitcase back, dodging his hand.
‘Even an idiot would have figured it out by now, she thought.
‘lan married me when my family went bankrupt because I was easy to control, easy to manipulate
‘All these years, he was just waiting for the woman he loved to come back to him.
‘He gave me the title of Mrs. Hamilton simply to have a cover story!
A complex emotion flickered in Ian’s eyes. He stepped forward to take her hand.
Chloe dodged him again, pulling her suitcase toward the curb.
A black luxury car pulled up, and Eric Jordan got out.
The driver put Chloe’s suitcase in the trunk while Eric opened the rear door for her.
Just as Chloe was about to get in, Ian grabbed her wrist.
His face was cold as he demanded, “Why are you getting in his car?”
Chloe glanced back at him, yanked her hand free, and got into the car without a second thought
Eric adjusted his glasses with a single finger. “Don’t misunderstand, Mr. Hamilton,” he said politely. “Chloe and I are just colleagues. I’m simply looking out for her. It’s not what
