The Billionaire Ex-Wife and the Beggar He Became novel Chapter 260

Helga was speechless. After a long moment, she rubbed her tired eyes and her voice choked with tears. "How could that old man do such a thing? My granddaughter saved his life and kept him out of prison. How could he turn around and bite her like that? Waaaaah…"

The old woman sobbed quietly, a pitiful, muffled sound.

Winona instantly regretted telling her. She patted Helga's back comfortingly. "Hey, beautiful, are you going to keep feeling sorry for just anyone? Tell me."

"No more," she mumbled.

"You're forgiven. I'll take you shoe shopping this weekend. And we'll get you some more lipsticks so you can switch up your look. Stop crying, you'll ruin your makeup," Winona said, handing her a tissue.

Helga glanced at the pot. "I burned the porridge. I think I'll go downstairs and buy some. I'll get some pastries for you three, and I'm craving some coffee."

"I knew it. You just wanted an excuse to show off your new heels at the morning market," Winona said, seeing right through her.

Helga tottered out on her high heels. Half an hour passed, and she still hadn't returned. A knot of unease tightened in Winona's stomach. Without even changing out of her pajamas, she rushed downstairs to the breakfast stalls. She scanned the few vendors, but Helga was nowhere in sight.

Winona quickly took Zane to kindergarten, keeping her face hidden behind a mask. Thankfully, no one recognized her. When she returned, she and Mia began searching for their grandmother everywhere.

As they searched, Mia suddenly asked, "Do you think Grandma went to the hospital to settle the score with Frank?"

"You old witch! From the way you dress and how you crashed Mrs. Shepherd's birthday party, it's clear you're cut from the same cloth. You're no lady, and neither is Winona! You and your granddaughter both rely on seducing men to get what you want!"

"Go to hell, you old bastard!" Helga cried, trying to charge at Frank. But Old Mrs. Shepherd, Teague, and Henrietta shoved her back.

"Get out of here, you old tramp!" Old Mrs. Shepherd gave her a hard push, sending her stumbling backward—right into the arms of Winona and Mia, who had just arrived.

"You bastards! A whole group of you ganging up on my grandma? I'm going to kill you!" Mia snarled, lunging into the room.
