"Miss Perkins, don't you worry about living in this neighborhood. If anyone tries to harass you or your family, we'll all help you deal with them!"
"Miss Perkins, can I get your autograph on my shirt later?"
Winona smiled, her mood suddenly lifting. "Of course," she said.
She took Helga and Mia by the hand and they continued on their way.
"Winnie, which mall are we going to today?" Helga asked excitedly. She had developed a passion for shopping, especially for makeup, handbags, and high heels.
Mia, however, seemed less enthusiastic. "Now that we're so rich, basically billionaires, I don't really care about material things anymore," she said glumly. "I just want..."
Winona looked at her, confused. "What do you want? A villa overseas? Done!" Now that they had money, they could afford to be extravagant.
"No, that's not it. You pushed Yves away, which means he's probably not going to help me get Claud Gallagher anymore. I don't want to go shopping, and I don't want a villa. I just want Claud..."
"You!" Winona raised her hand as if to pinch Mia's ear. "You're obsessed! Claud is six years younger than you! The Gallagher family might not be on the same level as the Nicholsons or the Prescotts, but they're right behind them. The Shepherds wouldn't even let you in their door, and now you think you can just waltz into a real high-society family?"
"Yep!" Mia answered without hesitation. "Because my sister is Winona!"
Winona was speechless.
"Come on, just talk to Yves for me. See if he can help me get Claud."
"What's wrong with Xander McCarthy?" At least Xander was more stable and upstanding than Claud, and his family wasn't so powerful that they'd kick Mia out on a whim. If Mia had to marry one of them, Winona would choose Xander.
He had just finished laughing when he heard his boss in the back seat on the phone.
"Use every means necessary to put pressure on the Gallagher family. Keep it up until Claud comes begging to me," Yves instructed.
The person on the other end was incredulous. "Mr. Prescott, I understand going after the Shepherd family—they're your future wife's mortal enemies. But the Gallaghers haven't done anything to you. And Claud's relationship with Julian..."
"I want Claud."
"Uh... Mr. Prescott, sir... Weren't you planning on marrying that Miss... Miss Perkins, the one with the three dependents? It's only been a few days... has your... orientation changed?"
"The sister of the woman I intend to marry wants to marry Claud!" Yves snapped.
