"Pregnant?" Julian shot up from the sofa, his face breaking into a smile of pure, uncontainable joy.
The man who rarely showed emotion was suddenly beaming. "Felly, are you saying I'm going to be a father? We're… we're having a baby?"
He rushed to her side and pulled her into a tight embrace. "Is this real? Am I dreaming? We're having a baby? Twins?"
Felicity laughed through her tears. "Julian, we're having a baby."
"Oh, my heavens! This is wonderful news!" Janetta exclaimed, rushing over to them. "The Nicholson family hasn't had a new addition in five years! Julian just divorced that vampire three days ago, and now Felly is pregnant with twins! Felly, you are our family's lucky star!" She grabbed Felicity's hand, her voice thick with emotion.
On the sofa, Julian's father, Forrest, and his grandparents were also smiling broadly. Julian's grandfather, Simms, a man of ninety, boomed, "I'll bet you anything those twins are both boys!"
"We're getting two new male heirs for the Nicholson family!"
"This is all thanks to Felly!"
"Felly, you are incredible! You are the perfect daughter-in-law we've been searching for. I never cared about matching family status—those girls are always so spoiled and difficult. Felly is perfect! She's bright, capable, generous, and down-to-earth. And she's so talented! To think this amazing woman is finally joining our family, and bringing us two priceless treasures."
Janetta grew more delighted with every word.
Just three days ago, Julian's divorce from the vampire Winona had been the talk of the town, costing the family billions and causing immense embarrassment. But now, Felly had completely turned their fortunes around.
Felicity smiled, and tears began to stream down her face again.
Julian gently wiped them away with a handkerchief from his suit pocket. "What's wrong? Crying from happiness? You're pregnant now, you shouldn't cry. It's not good for you or the babies."
Felicity was overwhelmed with bliss. She snuggled into Julian's arms and looked up at him sweetly. "Julian, what we did before was wrong. We were so caught up in our love, thinking our feelings were the purest thing in the world, that we ignored Winona."
"Even though you and she had no real relationship, her presence was a fact."
"It was our mistake, and we have to own it. We should apologize to the entire city. As long as we know our love is real and our hearts are true, that's all that matters, right?"
