The Billionaire Ex-Wife and the Beggar He Became novel Chapter 363

"Grandma! Don't you dare!" Winona shouted, trying to stop her.

For the first time, Helga, who was usually intimidated by Winona, ignored her command. Her gaze was fixed on Old Mr. Shepherd as she spoke with unwavering determination. "Nona has longed for a mother and father's love her entire life. If you acknowledge her as your own and love her, I'll give up my revenge. Your houses will be yours again."

"HELGA!" Winona cried out.

Old Mr. Shepherd stared at Helga in astonishment. "Helga, are you saying…" He trailed off, then turned his gaze directly to Winona. "Nona, are you truly my granddaughter?"

"Yes!" Helga answered for her. "Nona is your biological granddaughter. Felicity Shepherd is an impostor. You old fool, apologize to Nona, take her home, and give her the complete family she's always deserved. If you do that, the feud between us is over!"

She added with venom, "But you have to kick that bitch Felicity out. Let her rot!"

Old Mr. Shepherd was speechless.

Old Mrs. Shepherd scrambled to her feet, her eyes wide with disbelief. "What nonsense are you spouting now, you old hag? Haven't you caused enough trouble between us? Now you're trying to trick my husband into accepting this ungrateful viper back into the Shepherd family?"

She sneered, "You're just trying to get Winona back into the family so she can marry Julian, aren't you? Well, Julian loves Felly! He'll love her even if she's not a Shepherd! Don't you and your beggar granddaughter dare get any ideas!"

"Winona had a DNA test done with my son and daughter-in-law. There's no blood relation! Felly also had tests done with them—three different labs confirmed it with official documents. Felly is our family's child! There's no mistake!"

"Helga Perkins! Did you bother to ask for my consent?" Winona retorted, her voice shaking with rage. "Besides, I am not their child! We all had DNA tests—me with them, them with Felicity. Can a DNA test lie?"

Helga blinked her raw, reddened eyes and answered in a small voice, "But Nona, I'm not wrong. You look so much like that old bastard Shepherd did when he was young. You have his cleverness too. And you even resemble that mistress in her youth. Look at this old, yellowed photograph if you don't believe me."

As she spoke, Mia leaned in to look. After a moment, she gasped. "You know, she's right. You do have a resemblance to the young mistress. No wonder Grandma always said the Shepherds owed her, so she would have their own granddaughter defeat them. Maybe you really are a Shepherd…"

"Mia! Helga Perkins! Do you have any idea how much the Shepherd family disgusts me? Just hearing their name makes me want to vomit!" Winona's voice was raw. "You are my family, the ones who have stood by me through thick and thin, the grandmother and sister I support. If you ever again bring up this absurd, nauseating idea that I have Shepherd blood in my veins, don't blame me for being ruthless. I will cut you off without a second thought!"

The very idea of being a Shepherd was a physical revulsion to her.
