The Billionaire Ex-Wife and the Beggar He Became novel Chapter 392

"Get lost!" the old woman snapped, thoroughly annoyed. This cruise ship was enormous, bigger than the entire village of Perkins Creek, a staggering twenty stories high. She had never seen anything like it in her life, and she wanted to enjoy it with her great-grandson, not waste time with this spineless old fool.

But the more she tried to shake him, the more he clung to her. Wherever she and Zane went, Old Mr. Shepherd followed, hovering nearby.

From across the room, Old Mrs. Shepherd, decked out in jewels, watched with mounting fury. Felicity had warned the entire family to be on their best behavior, but was this old woman from the countryside some kind of VIP? How could she be here, shamelessly seducing a married man in public?

Old Mrs. Shepherd couldn't contain herself any longer. "You old hag! Have you no shame? Why are you always trying to seduce my husband?" she shrieked.

Her outburst drew the attention of everyone nearby. Even Janetta, who was chatting with the wife of a prominent official, turned to look, her face etched with displeasure. She was already in a foul mood. These cruise tickets were meant for the Nicholson family, an annual tradition. But this year, the Shepherds had insisted on bringing Jason's new girlfriend, leaving Tiana at home alone. The injustice of it all had been simmering inside her, but she had swallowed her anger for the sake of her beloved, pregnant daughter-in-law, who had done so much for the family.

Just as she had managed to calm herself, her daughter-in-law's grandmother had to go and make a scene. At her age! With no regard for the setting.

She was about to intervene when she heard Winona's grandmother laugh. "My teeth are about to fall out. What would I want with your husband? Mia, show her the video."

"You got it, Grandma!" Mia said, pretending to pull out her phone.

Old Mrs. Shepherd immediately backed down, muttering, "I won't lower myself to your level," before slinking away.

Everyone present was sharp enough to understand what had just happened. The old woman's blustering threats followed by a hasty retreat made it clear she was the one at fault. She had probably stolen the other woman's husband and was now being blackmailed.

Others chimed in with smiles and agreement.

"You're all welcome to attend," Felicity said, her smile radiant.

Just as she was about to approach an important guest, she saw him excuse himself and hurry past her, a deferential smile on his face.

"CEO Prescott!" the man said warmly. "I hope the guest list meets with your approval this evening?"

Yves Prescott looked down at Winona with an expression of pure adoration. "As long as my girlfriend is satisfied, everything is perfect."
