The Billionaire Ex-Wife and the Beggar He Became novel Chapter 441

The moment Julian heard Felicity's voice, his own turned to ice. "You?"

"Were you expecting Winona?" Felicity asked.

"Yes," Julian answered without hesitation.

Felicity fell silent, the jealousy and hatred in her heart curdling into poison.

If Winona were standing in front of her right now, she would have gladly poisoned Winona.

After a long pause, she adopted a haughty tone. "I know you don't want to talk to me, but Mr. Frank is transferring billions in assets to my name. When are you free to come with me to have the documents notarized?"

"Your assets have nothing to do with me. I'm not going."

"You…" Felicity began, but her voice softened after a moment. "Julian, please come back. It's been so hard these last two days, trying to protect the pregnancy. Just a minute ago, I felt our two babies kicking me…"

Her children were Felicity's ultimate weapon.

As she'd hoped, Julian's tone immediately eased. "I'll be back tomorrow."

He hung up and immediately dialed the Nicholson estate. Forrest answered the phone.

"Dad, is Tiana back home yet?" Julian asked.

"She's back. I'm bringing her over to your house tomorrow. I'd like to see for myself whether that's Tiana's home or a den for the Shepherds!" Forrest's voice was thick with rage.

"Dad, calm down…"

But Forrest had already hung up.

Julian then called Winona. The phone rang for a long time before she finally picked up. "What is it?"

"Winona, you said you'd call me today. Why didn't you?" Julian asked. Ever since the wedding, through his drunken stupor, the hospital IV, and the surgery, he had been desperate to hear her voice. It felt like the only thing that could soothe his wounds.

Winona's voice was cold and dismissive. "Julian, when can I have Tiana back? Let's set a time, and I'll come pick her up."

With childlike innocence, Catherine giggled. "Really, Grandma? I don't want Mommy to spend too much money."

"Your father gives your mother a generous allowance every year, and he gave her several billion just for the wedding a few days ago. Our Kevin and Catherine are now children of Greenwood City's most prominent family. Money is the one thing you two will never have to worry about…"

Standing in the foyer, Julian cleared his throat loudly.

"Daddy, you're finally back! I missed you so much!"

"Oh, my daddy's home!"

The two eight-year-olds showed no shyness toward Julian. They both raced toward him to see who could get there first.

The little girl reached him first, wrapping her arms around his leg. "Daddy, hold me."

Her brother stood beside him, equally familiar. "Daddy, after you hold my sister, can we play piggyback? You can kneel, and I'll ride on your back."
