The Billionaire Ex-Wife and the Beggar He Became novel Chapter 446

"Is Julian still angry with you?" Henrietta asked.

"With my babies as leverage, he wouldn't dare do anything to me," Felicity said with a confident, cold smile. "In a few days, after Mr. Frank transfers his assets to me, I'll have billions in hand. I won't have to bow to him then! The retirement project still needs me to take the lead. Right now, Julian is the one who can't afford to lose me."

She dialed Julian's number again.

This time, he answered.

Adopting a concerned tone, Felicity said, "Julian, you should try to reason with Tiana. She's going to have two older siblings, plus a little brother and sister soon…"

"If this isn't about you having a miscarriage, don't call me! I'm warning you, protect the children in your womb. If anything happens to them, I will make your entire family pay with their lives," Julian said in a chilling voice before abruptly hanging up.

Felicity shuddered, suddenly realizing that Julian was merely tolerating her. It didn't mean he feared her, had submitted to her, or was willing to be her plaything. If she pushed him too far, he would truly destroy her without a second thought.

"Julian, you can only be mine," she hissed under her breath. "I won't let you go back to Winona!"

At that moment, Julian was driving aimlessly with his parents and Tiana. Back in the living room, Tiana had agreed to go with Janetta, but after coming down from her room, everything had changed.

She had walked out alone, a tiny, pitiful figure like an abandoned puppy. Even in her despair, she never once looked back at the home where she had lived for five years. Her small, frail body moved with a staggering, yet absolute, finality.

Her father and grandparents followed behind her, their hearts breaking.

Janetta had caught up to Tiana and swept her into her arms, sobbing. "My precious girl, Grandpa and Grandma love you most, and Daddy loves you most. Come home with Grandma, and I'll decorate a brand new princess room for you."

Tiana remained dazed and unresponsive.

They got her into the car, but no matter what the three of them said, Tiana remained in a stupor.

Eventually, Janetta suggested taking her to a children's restaurant to see if they could spark some interest. But even at the brightly-colored restaurant, Tiana remained vacant, not taking a single bite, not saying a single word.

Tiana banged on the door, screaming, "Let me out! Let me out! I want to get out…"

It was only then that Julian realized they were passing Winona's apartment complex.

Winona happened to be home. It was the Sunday after Zane's first week back at school, and to reward him for not being late or leaving early, Yves Prescott had brought over a car trunk full of toys.

Winona, Grandma, Aunt Mia, and Yves were all doting on Zane. The living room was filled with laughter.

As the five of them were happily playing, there was a knock at the door. Winona, being the closest, went to open it.

The door swung open, and she froze.

"Tiana…" she choked out. "What happened to you?"
