The Billionaire Ex-Wife and the Beggar He Became novel Chapter 447

Tiana's long hair was a tangled mess, falling across her face and shoulders. Her plump little cheeks were streaked with tears and snot. In the cold, the tear tracks had started to chap her delicate skin.

Looking down, Winona saw that in the dead of winter, Tiana was wearing only one little boot. The other foot was clad in a sock so dirty its original color was impossible to tell.

Though her face was a mess, the little girl looked at her mother with a timid, dazed, and humbled expression.

Behind her stood a helpless-looking Julian, flanked by Janetta and Forrest.

"What happened to Tiana! You bastards, what did you do to her?!" Winona's heart shattered into a million pieces. Tears streamed from her eyes as her hands balled into fists, wishing she could beat the three of them to death on the spot.

By then, Yves Prescott, Mia Summers, and Grandma had come to the door. Seeing Tiana in such a state, they gasped in shock.

Zane burst into tears. He squeezed through the adults and took Tiana's hands. "What happened, sister? Did someone bully you? I will go beat them up for you! Waaah…"

Zane was heartbroken.

Seeing Tiana just stare blankly, he asked, "Mom and I have been calling you for days. Why was your phone off? Did the mean kids who bullied you take your watch, too? Tell me who it was! I'll get it back for you!"

"Zane… I… I'm your grandma. Do you still remember me?" Janetta asked, trying to curry favor.

It was only at this moment that she realized Zane was far more suitable as her grandson than the two children Felicity had brought.

Zane had lived with the Nicholson family for six years and carried their name for just as long. He was her grandson.

Zane shook his head. "Who are you?"

Janetta faltered, then coughed and explained, "Zane, Tiana didn't lose her watch. She was at a boarding school last week, and the teachers don't allow children to wear them, so…"

"What!" Winona cut Janetta off abruptly. "Julian Nicholson! You son of a bitch! You sent Tiana to a boarding school? Are you dead? If you're dead and can't look after her, she still has me! How could you send her to a boarding school? Is this what you meant when you said you could take good care of her?"

Despite Winona's tirade, the three Nicholsons offered no defense.

"Great… Grand… ma… I'm… sorry."

"Tia, my dear, come on, call me great-grandma…" Helga replied.

But to everyone's surprise, Tiana suddenly jumped off the sofa, ran out of the room, and slammed the door shut behind her with a loud bang.

The action stunned everyone in the room.

Winona, Mia, Zane, Helga, Yves Prescott, and the three Nicholsons all stared at each other in disbelief.

"Why did Tiana run away?" Janetta murmured.

Then, with a sharp cry, Winona screamed, "Tiana!" She yanked the door open, but the hallway outside was empty.
