The Billionaire Ex-Wife and the Beggar He Became novel Chapter 456

The officer's patience had worn thin. He shot back a cold smile. "A week ago, was this little girl living in here?"

Felicity fell silent.

"Is this little girl's legal residence registered at this address?"

Felicity had no answer.

"And is her biological father not your husband? Let's put aside who owns the house for a moment. This house isn't yours, is it? Your name isn't on the deed, right?"

Again, silence.

"I just don't get it," the officer continued, his voice rising with frustration. "The house isn't yours, your name isn't on it, and the little girl is your husband's daughter. She's legally registered here and has lived here for five years. So why did you think you had the right to throw out all her belongings and move your daughter in?"

Felicity stood there, unable to form a response.

"Answer me! Why?" the officer barked.

The sudden command made Felicity flinch, her legs trembling.

Seeing that she had nothing to say, the officer turned to Mia and the others. "Go ahead. Move it."

"You got it!" Mia said with grim satisfaction. She, Helga, Zane, Tiana, and even Yves Prescott got to work, clearing every last trace of Catherine out of Tiana's room.

Catherine remained outside the door, her cries escalating into heart-wrenching sobs. But it was no use. The three household maids even came up to help. With seven or eight people working together, it took just over an hour to empty the room completely.

Catherine cried until her voice was hoarse, thrashing on the floor so hard that she scraped her heels raw.

Tiana began moving her own things back into her room. It didn't feel the same as it used to, without the faint scent of her mother, and she had already decided she wouldn't live here anymore. But at least she was no longer being bullied by those two brats. For now, that was enough. She felt happy, safe. She had reclaimed a small piece of the security she had lost.

"Don't worry. The police told me not to hit you anymore, and I won't. Not today," Winona said with a chilling smile. She then turned to Felicity. "And I'm not going to be so obvious as to attack your stomach again, because I have no desire to go to prison. However…"

Her eyes, filled with contempt, shifted to the two children who had tormented her daughter. "This is not your home. Do you understand, kids? Now, please leave. Go wherever you need to go, but get out of here. Immediately!"

She then addressed the three maids. "Get these two children out of here! And don't let them near the villa again!"

"Yes, Ma— Miss Perkins!"

The maids immediately began ushering the two children toward the door.

"Kevin! Catherine!" Felicity cried out in anguish.

As she started to follow them, Frank entered through the front door. He stopped short, his eyes widening at the sight of the demolished living room. "Shepherd, what happened? The lawyer and I were waiting for you at the notary's office, but you never showed up… Did you forget that today was the day we were signing the asset transfer agreement?"
