Winona rose and fixed her gaze on Henrietta, who was cowering nearby. "Today was just the beginning. From now on, I will beat you every single time I see you, until you are paralyzed from the neck down. You will pay a hundred times over for every bit of pain you inflicted on my daughter. I will make you taste the very definition of hell on earth."
Henrietta shuddered violently, a fresh wave of terror washing over her.
Winona gave her a look of pure contempt. Then she turned to Yves Prescott's men and gave a sharp command. "Take these two pieces of trash who occupied my daughter's home and her room, and throw them out. Now!"
"Yes, ma'am!" came the resounding reply.
They moved to grab Kevin and Catherine, who hadn't yet been forced out.
"Mommy! Mommy, save me! I don't want to be a beggar again! I'm scared I'll get lice! Mommy!"
The children's cries were heartbreakingly pitiful.
Felicity glared at Winona, her eyes burning with hatred. "Brother," she called out to Jason, "could you please take Kevin and Catherine out for the day? As soon as my business is settled, I'll find a new place for them to live."
"Fine," Jason nodded. He shot one last furious look at Winona before taking the two crying children by the hand and leading them away.
Winona then turned to her own group. "Let's get out of here," she said to Yves, Mia, her grandmother, and Zane. "This place is a wreck, and it reeks of filth and urine."
A moment later, the living room was empty except for the debris and the remaining members of the Shepherd family.
Felicity helped Henrietta to her feet. "Mom, are you okay? I have to go sign the asset transfer agreement with Frank now. But don't worry. As soon as that fortune is in my hands, I swear, I will make Winona pay with her life."
Henrietta, ignoring the blood matting her hair, pushed her daughter urgently. "Go! Go wash up and change your clothes. And don't forget to bring your contract. Go sign with Frank! We're talking about tens of billions! Any delay could bring complications, my dear!"
Winona didn't reply.
She was, in fact, waiting for Julian. She had called him before coming here, but he seemed to be out of town and couldn't return immediately. That's why she had stormed the villa alone. She had wrecked his home and beaten Henrietta to a pulp. When Julian returned, he would surely be furious. The Nicholsons would find out that the property documents were fake and would call the police again. But that was the point.
Winona needed Julian to see what his precious Henrietta had done to his own daughter. She had to witness Julian punishing Henrietta herself. She was determined to make the Nicholson and Shepherd families turn on each other, to make their love curdle into an equal and opposite hatred.
"What are you trying to say?" Winona finally countered, not confirming or denying anything. "Your husband and I share a daughter. Is it not my right to discuss the abuse of that daughter with him?"
Felicity leaned in close to Winona's ear and whispered something.
Winona froze, her face instantly draining of all color.
