The Billionaire Ex-Wife and the Beggar He Became novel Chapter 460

As Winona paced anxiously, Yves tried to calm her, wrapping a steadying arm around her shoulders.

"I just don't understand," she said, tears of frustration welling in her eyes. "How can the universe be so blind? How can a monster like Felicity have such incredible luck? Inheriting tens of billions from a stranger!"

"Nona, do you really think this is just good luck?" a voice said from behind them. "Don't you feel like something isn't right?"

Winona turned to see Xander McCarthy. She was startled but quickly composed herself. "Dr. McCarthy, what are you doing here?"

"I needed to ask Felicity something, so I called her. She said she was at the notary's office about to sign the asset transfer contract with Frank, so I rushed right over," Xander said, his expression serious as he looked at Winona.

"What's wrong?" she asked, a sense of unease creeping over her.

Xander seemed to hesitate. "Winona, just a moment." He pulled out his phone and dialed Felicity. "Felly, which VIP room are you in? I'd like to be a witness for you, if that's okay."

On the other end, Felicity's voice was smug. "Of course, Xander! We're in room 216. Come on up."

"Great." Xander ended the call and looked at Winona and Yves. "Winona, come with me."

Winona's suspicion deepened. Yves, however, shrugged. "It's her inheritance. Why should we go up there?"

Winona suppressed the thought that was screaming in her mind. "Let's go," she said to Yves. "Let's go with Xander and see what's happening. Besides, I needed to talk to Julian anyway."

She wanted to say more, to voice the incredible idea taking shape in her head, but she held it back. Without proof, without seeing it with her own eyes, she couldn't say a word.

Frank frowned. "Why is it a paper copy? You knew the password, so you printed it out? How is that possible?"

At the same time, Winona's eyes fell on the title of the document: *Purchase Contract for a Retirement Project Design Plan.*

She slammed her hands on the table and shot to her feet. "Felicity, it was you! You stole my design!"

Felicity stared blankly from Frank to Winona, completely bewildered. She had no idea what Frank was talking about, and even less of an idea what Winona meant by her "stolen design."

Before her mind could catch up, the lawyer spoke again, her voice sharp and stern. "Miss Shepherd, I am asking for the asset transfer agreement. It is an encrypted USB drive. Where is the drive?"

Felicity looked at her like a fool. "A… a what? What USB drive?"
