The Billionaire Ex-Wife and the Beggar He Became novel Chapter 462

One hand on her pregnant belly, Felicity pointed a shaking finger at Winona.

Her eyes were wild, her teeth gritted.

Her face was a mask of pure rage.

The lawyer sitting beside them stared, aghast.

She couldn't help but ask Felicity, "Ms. Shepherd, was your flash drive stolen by someone?"

The lawyer's constant mention of the flash drive only agitated Felicity more. "Amira, please! You and Mr. Frank have been deceived by this bitch! She's a viper, a monster. There is no flash drive! It's a story this bitch fabricated to turn Mr. Frank against me!"

In that moment, Felicity was no longer the elegant, proud, confident woman she pretended to be. She was just a panicked, desperate mess.

She didn't know what was on this supposed flash drive, but her greatest fear was that Mr. Frank would rescind his offer. The thought of having that hope dangled in front of her only to have it snatched away was enough to drive her mad. Especially when it was a fortune of tens of billions.

Frank returned from his phone call and resumed his seat, his face a cold mask. "I have a few questions for you," he said to Felicity.

"Mr. Frank, please listen to me! You can't believe the lies this bitch Winona is telling you," Felicity pleaded, rushing to his side and clutching his arm, her pregnant belly prominent. "She's just trying to drive a wedge between us!"

But Frank's expression was one of profound disappointment and disbelief.

"I'm asking you a question!" he snapped. "What were you doing when you were sixteen? Answer me in front of the notary!"

Felicity paused, startled, then began her practiced sob story. "Mr. Frank, my life was so, so hard when I was sixteen. I couldn't afford to go to school; I didn't even own a decent pair of shoes. I was born into wealth, but fate played a cruel joke on me..."

"I asked what you did when you were sixteen!" Frank cut her off, unwilling to hear another word of her rehearsed tale.

It struck her on the forehead, instantly raising a large, painful welt.

Julian and the notary were stunned by his violent outburst, but the lawyer, Xander, and Winona remained calm.

Clutching her throbbing forehead, Felicity whimpered, "Mr. Frank, what's wrong...?"

"You fraud! I'll have you thrown in jail! I'm calling the police to arrest you, you damn fraud!" Frank trembled with fury.

Felicity was speechless.

At that moment, Winona quietly rose to her feet, her gaze fixed on Frank with a desolate look. "It was me."
