Aliyah now stays around Lily and her friends, they do everything together, and when Alessa passes next to them, they throw insults at her and Aliyah laughs.

Alessa was heartbroken, despite trying so hard to act like she didn't care, she broke down sometimes.

She cried herself to sleep once in a while wondering what she had done so wrong and why life isn't so fair to her. Why does she keep losing everyone around her? Was she really the problem?

She had tried to talk to Aliyah too because she couldn't keep fighting with her. Aliyah has helped her a lot, she was the reason she passed the first trial and got this far.

Whenever she tries to talk to Aliyah, she gets ignored or Lily shows up and interrupts when she is about to listen.

But Alessa stopped trying to talk to her two weeks ago. Whenever they meet now, they walk past each other like strangers.

They were all gathered in the arena waiting for Madam Olga to speak. They weren't in their uniforms, they were in black pants and a shirt which meant they were doing something serious for the day.

Alessa stood behind the students and folded her arms as she watched.

The other gates of the arena were opened revealing the woods behind the building. Alessa hoped whatever they had to do didn't involve the woods but it seemed like it did.

When it was finally time for Madam Olga to speak, everyone paid attention.

“Today we are going to test your endurance, strength, and knowledge. You all will run for hours in the woods till you receive a signal to stop and you will find your way back here yourself. Since it's your first time in the woods, your seniors will go with you but won't help you with any problems you come across.” she explained and four students in black uniforms moved closer to her.

Alessa recognised one of them. She remembered asking her questions about how she got to the last rank a month ago.

“There would be obstacles in the woods, that’s where knowledge comes in.” Madam Olga said.

“Good luck.”
