The Billionaire’s Regret -Alessa (by Bukolami) novel Chapter 98

SIX YEARS AGO

“Because Madam Olga ordered them to kill you.”

“Wh… what?” Alessa stuttered in fear and blinked rapidly.

They noticed the arena gates opening and Alessa’s heart raced faster.

“Stacey, what is… “

“There isn't much time to explain further. Good luck, Alessa. Stay alive.” Stacey rushed her words and walked away.

Alessa felt it difficult to breathe as tears welled up in her eyes. Her hands trembled as she held the empty gun. She glanced at Lily and her friends and saw the stern look on their faces.

‘Why the hell did Madam Olga order them to kill me?’

‘What did I do wrong?’

‘Does this have anything to do with my kids? With Rico?’ ‘What the hell is going on?’

Alessa kept asking herself different questions, and she tried to figure out why Madam Olga wanted her dead.

The arena gates were fully opened and they all stepped out. Alessa’s eyes widened seeing the huge maze in the middle of the arena. The other students were sitting and cheering, then there was Madam Olga and the other teachers seated too.

Alessa stared at the maze in fear. What the hell is Madam Olga up to?

“Welcome to your second trial.” Madam Olga announced and the students cheered except those who were doing the trial.

“You are playing hide and seek,” she said and the students muttered amongst themselves. Alessa just kept staring at Madam Olga.

She was mad, terrified, and worried.

“You’ve got thirty minutes to spend in this maze, if you find your way out before the time runs out, you win. If you manage to survive but you are still in the maze, you lose,” she explained.

‘Great, I have to survive and find a way out.’ Alessa groaned inwardly.

“The fun part about this is you get to kill whoever you want while finding your way out, if you manage to kill a person and you are still in the maze when the time runs out, you win. In summary, kill, survive, and find your way out. There aren't any rules for this game, good luck.” Madam Olga explained and Alessa exhaled heavily.

She glanced at Aliyah, Lily, and her friends. They were discussing something and Alessa looked away from them.

An alarm sounded signaling them to begin and a huge screen showing the timer came out. Immediately, Alessa ran into the maze.

She flinched as gunshots and screams filled the air. She kept running in the maze trying to find a way out.

She suddenly heard footsteps behind her and she turned to see a lady trembling in fear.

“Please, please help me. They killed my friend.” she whimpered as she moved closer to Alessa.

“Is your gun loaded?” Alessa asked staring down at it.

“No.” she whimpered as she shook her head.
