The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan) novel Chapter 761

Willow slammed on the brakes as the light turned red, bringing the car to a sudden stop.

Harold lurched forward slightly but quickly wrapped his arms around her waist in a lightning-fast move, planting a fervent kiss on her cheek.

Willow was initially stunned, but Harold was relentless, pushing her back into the rear seat.

It had been years since Willow had kissed or been kissed by anyone. After her child's father left, she hadn't dated. She'd had plenty of suitors, but they all seemed slick and unappealing. Now, a wave of warmth surged through her chest, like rain soaking into parched earth. Every vein in her body pulsed with life, her heart racing, igniting a fiery passion within her.

The impatient honking from behind signaled the green light, snapping Willow back to reality. She pushed Harold away and hastily drove off.

She thought to herself, "This isn't right. I can see where this is heading with Harold, and I need to stop it. This can't mean anything. It can't change anything!"

Harold, still high from the kiss, was elated. It was his first time kissing the woman he adored. Her lips were cool and trembling, and her technique was undeniably rusty, a sign she hadn't been intimate with anyone for a long while.

"I wasn't trying to change anything!" Harold said.

"How do you plan to pay me back?"

"I'll save up. I won't sell to anyone else."

"How much do you make a month? As your creditor, I have a right to know."

Harold glanced at Willow, "A thousand. Plus, there's a bonus at the end of the year."

"How much is the bonus?"

"Maybe two thousand or so."
