The Day Silence Spoke novel Chapter 296

“Then let’s make a deal.”

“Not interested.”

Santino pushed himself into a sitting position, his eyes fixed on Clifford. “Oh, I think you are.”

“Oh?”

“Do you know who owns TOPSUN?”

Clifford’s gaze sharpened as he considered the question. After a moment, he said, “Greyson Lambert.”

Santino’s eyebrows shot up. “Smart, as expected. He’s already inside Lambert Group, isn’t he? Which means you should be able to guess his objective.”

When Clifford didn’t reply, Santino pressed on. “So, are you interested now?”

Clifford’s lips twisted into a derisive sneer. “What, are you planning to start a dogfight with him?”

“Hahaha…” Santino roared with laughter. “Mr. Lambert, you’re the ones in a dogfight. What does it have to do with me? I just enjoy watching your family tear itself apart. It makes no difference to me whose side I’m on. You should know that.”

The words were harsh, but they were true.

Greyson was Wallace’s illegitimate son. Although Wallace never admitted it, it was obvious to anyone with eyes. Like Clifford, he was ambitious. After his initial plans failed, he had pivoted, using this new approach to get inside Lambert Group and confront Clifford head-on. It was a classic dog-eat-dog scenario. Wallace had been so generous to his other son, carving out an international subsidiary just for him, but Greyson wasn’t satisfied. He wanted more. He wanted to take everything that belonged to Clifford.

As for what Clifford was thinking, only he knew.

Santino lowered his voice. “How would you like to swallow up TOPSUN as well? Don’t tell me you don’t need my help, Mr. Lambert. He’s holding twenty-seven percent of Wallace’s shares, which puts him nearly on par with you. And he has TOPSUN backing him. With your intelligence, surely you can see what’s coming next?”
