Charis was a person of esteemed status! She was Miss Gonzales. The only granddaughter of the Richards family, protected by eight uncles and doted on by thirteen older brothers. To call her a princess would be an understatement. If Norris found out his sister was being bullied like this and no one had informed him, he would surely be furious.
But the situation was different now. Yvette and Nicolette were the ones sounding the alarm. Because of them, Charis wouldn't have to suffer in silence. In the end, they wouldn't just be Miss Gonzales's friends; they would become benefactors to both the Gonzales and Richards families.
The more Yvette thought about it, the more excited she became, as if she could already see herself as an honored guest of the Richards family.
Charis, however, was dying of anxiety, praying that the idiot Nicolette wouldn't find Norris. "Please, don't let her find him! Please!"
Seeing all this, Elsa found it odd. She moved closer to Caitlin and whispered, "Catie, doesn't this seem a bit... out of character for Charis?"
Charis was not known for her subtlety, and she was certainly no saint.
On the very first day in the dorm, she had caused a huge scene. Normally, she would have been the first to call for Norris to come and back her up, to flaunt her Miss Gonzales status.
But today, she was actively trying to stop Nicolette and Yvette from getting him. It was strange. Terribly strange.
Caitlin looked at Elsa. "Have you ever considered that she might not be Freya Gonzales at all? And that's why she's terrified of seeing Mr. Richards?"
