Half an hour later, a waiter brought in the herbal tea. "Miss Kensington, your tea is ready."
"Thank you." Caitlin took the bowl with both hands and placed it on the table.
Then, she walked over to Gordon and gently patted his back. "Gordon, wake up."
Gordon stirred, awakened by her touch. His eyes were red and a little dazed from sleep. He stared at Caitlin for a moment, and then a slow smile spread across his face. "Ca, Catie."
"Sobered up?" Caitlin asked.
"Mhm." Gordon nodded slightly, then opened his arms and pulled her into a hug, burying his head in the crook of her neck. His voice was husky. "But I'm so sleepy. Let me sleep a little longer."
Caitlin patted his head. "You can sleep in a bit. Drink this tea first."
"Don't want to," Gordon shook his head.
"Be good."
"Don't wanna be good."
Caitlin was speechless. He was being quite rebellious.
"I want yogurt," Gordon mumbled, planting a kiss on Caitlin's cheek. "Not sobering-up tea."
"Alright, alright, you can have yogurt," Caitlin said, picking up a straw from the table and sticking it into the bowl of tea. "This is yogurt. Drink up."
Gordon took a sip through the straw, then frowned. "This yogurt tastes weird! I want the strawberry flavored one."
"This is the strawberry flavored one. There must be something wrong with your taste buds."
"Really?"
"Of course. Be a good boy and finish your 'yogurt,' and then we can go home, okay?"
"Okay."
And so, as if coaxing a child, Caitlin managed to get him to drink the entire bowl of herbal tea.
After he finished, Caitlin called for Gordon's assistant. Together, they helped Gordon into the car.
