Just then, someone in the crowd spoke up.
Everyone immediately looked up and, sure enough, saw Gordon walking in, step by step. He seemed to be cloaked in an intimidating frost that sent shivers down one's spine.
Though the man was young, his presence overshadowed everyone else in the room.
Carroll's eyes lit up. He immediately went to greet him, his face plastered with a fawning smile. "Master Ninth, your presence at our Forbes family party truly makes our humble home shine!"
Gordon never attended these kinds of parties. His sudden appearance today must be because Stuart was here. He must be here to cause trouble for Stuart.
Thinking this, Carroll narrowed his eyes. It seemed Stuart was finished this time.
"Master Ninth, you should have come earlier. You should have heard what that piece of—"
Before he could finish his sentence, Gordon's expression changed, and he lashed out with a kick, aiming straight for Carroll's chest.
"Who do you think you are to mention Mr. Gonzales's name!"
Thud!
Gordon was a trained fighter. The kick sent Carroll sprawling to the ground, where he curled up in pain, cold sweat beading on his forehead.
What was happening?
Wasn't Gordon against marriage?
Didn't he look down on Caitlin?
It was for this very reason that Carroll had wanted to take the opportunity to badmouth Stuart in front of Gordon, to let Gordon know what outrageous things Stuart had said when he wasn't around.
He never expected that the moment he uttered Stuart's name, he would get kicked.
Even more terrifying, Gordon had referred to Stuart as Mr. Gonzales!
Seeing this, the crowd was stunned. They looked at each other, none of them expecting Gordon to suddenly attack Carroll.
Was he?
Was he defending Stuart?
While everyone was still processing, Gordon strode over to Stuart and, in front of everyone, spoke respectfully, "Mr. Gonzales, first, I must apologize to you. I failed to fulfill my duties as a boyfriend. If I had discovered the trending topics on Twitter sooner and clarified things, it wouldn't have escalated to this point."
"I admit, I was once a firm believer in not getting married. But that was before I met Freya. Since meeting Freya, I dream of marrying her every day. I want her to be the matriarch of the Sylvester family. I am no longer against marriage."
"Thank you for giving me the opportunity four years ago to pursue Freya and be by her side. Today, I promise you here and now that I will find the mastermind behind the deliberate slander against Freya on Twitter, the one who tried to drive a wedge between us, and I will give Freya the justice she deserves!"
"Mr. Gonzales, can you give me a chance to atone?"
The party hall fell into a deathly silence.
No one had expected such a turn of events.

So happy for Carey, the reunion with her family is touching. Can we read more of Caitlin and Gordon? Readers are forgetting that Caitlin has a boyfriend by the way. Is it normal for their relationship to be erased in the storyline?...
Update please......
But where is Gordon?...
Great story, great author!...
