Stuart was slightly taken aback when Gordon accepted the agreement so readily.
He hadn't seen a hint of displeasure in Gordon's eyes.
Could it be that Gordon truly didn't care about marrying into her family?
"Of course, sir. I'll go back and prepare right away," Gordon said, holding the document securely. "Is there anything specific you need me to do?"
"No," Stuart waved his hand. "Just follow the traditional procedures for the proposal."
Gordon nodded. "Sir, ma'am, and all the elders, if there's nothing else, I'll take my leave now."
"You may go."
Watching Gordon's departing figure, Hannah lowered her voice. "Freya certainly has good taste. I see nothing but limitless potential in that young man, not a single flaw."
"I agree," Keira chimed in. "I think he's an excellent young man."
Fortune smiled. "I've been saying it all along. Vest is a good kid."
Carey turned to her eight brothers and their wives. "What do you all think?"
Warren, Willis, Lyle, Theodore, and the other brothers remained silent.
It was the eight sisters-in-law who all nodded in agreement. "He's wonderful. We think he's just perfect. He's handsome, carries himself well in every respect, and most importantly, his family background and capabilities are a match for Freya."
When Gordon returned to the main hall, he chatted with the thirteen cousins for a while longer before announcing his departure.
Caitlin walked him out.
At the door, Caitlin asked, "So? What did my parents and uncles want to talk to you about?"
"Look what I've got!" Gordon pulled an envelope from his pocket.
"What is it?" Caitlin asked, curious.
"The marriage agreement! Didn't your father tell you? He's agreed to let me join the family! He even told me to bring a matchmaker to your house in three days to formally propose!"
Gordon pulled Caitlin into a hug, his voice thick with excitement. "Boss, I'm finally going to marry you! No, I'm finally going to join the Gonzales family!"
No one could understand just how thrilled he was. He had been waiting for this day for a very, very long time.
Caitlin looked puzzled. "A marriage agreement? What's that? I've never heard my dad mention it."
"It doesn't matter if you've heard of it or not," Gordon said, still holding her close, planting a kiss on her cheek. "What matters is that I'm about to become part of the Gonzales family!"
Gordon's car was parked by the curb. His assistant, sitting in the passenger seat, saw the embrace and immediately covered his eyes. He then freed one hand to cover the driver's eyes as well. "Avert your eyes!"
The driver was speechless.
After a few more sweet moments, Caitlin saw Gordon off to his car, not forgetting to instruct his assistant. "Stephen, your Master Ninth had quite a bit to drink today. You should sit in the back with him and make sure he doesn't get sick in the car."

So happy for Carey, the reunion with her family is touching. Can we read more of Caitlin and Gordon? Readers are forgetting that Caitlin has a boyfriend by the way. Is it normal for their relationship to be erased in the storyline?...
Update please......
But where is Gordon?...
Great story, great author!...
