“Yes, let’s head home first.” Keira nodded, then smiled at Caitlin. “Freya, let’s go see your father.”
Even though Stuart Gonzales had been bedridden for years, Keira firmly believed that her son was still aware of his surroundings. If he saw his daughter come home, he’d be overjoyed.
The group made their way back outside toward the airport parking lot.
Ann deliberately slowed her pace until she was walking shoulder to shoulder with Daniel. “Daniel, is Silverhaven as fun as everyone says?”
“It’s all right,” Daniel replied, subtly edging away from her.
Noticing his retreat, Ann’s lips curled into a knowing smile.
She understood that boys could be shy and awkward around those they liked, but she hadn’t realized Daniel could be this bashful.
Clearly, Daniel’s feelings for her ran deep.

Before long, they arrived at Gonzales Manor.
Amanda had spent the last few days decorating the estate in bright, festive colors. Red ribbons and cheerful streamers hung everywhere, inside and out.
The butler stood at the entrance with more than twenty staff members, forming a welcoming line.
As soon as Caitlin stepped out of the car, the butler and servants greeted her in unison, “Welcome home, Miss Freya.”
Miss Freya.
Hearing that title, Ann felt her composure begin to crack again.
From now on, she’d only ever be the cousin in this house.
Damn that little brat!
Keira held Caitlin’s hand and introduced her. “Freya, this is our house steward, Mr. Lowell.”
With a respectful bow, Mr. Lowell said, “Miss Freya, if you ever need anything around the house, please don’t hesitate to ask.”
The two older women broke down in tears, unable to contain themselves.
Several of Caitlin’s uncles, members of the Richards family, stood by with reddened eyes.
Suddenly, Jade Sinclair’s eyes lit up as if struck by an idea. “Freya, you’re so skilled in medicine—why don’t you take a look at Stuart? Maybe you can help him wake up!”
“Yes, yes!” Hannah nodded eagerly, wiping her tears. “You saved my life, Freya. Maybe you can save Stuart too.”
Caitlin had brought her medical kit with her for this trip. She quickly retrieved it, took out a wrist pillow, and began to examine Stuart’s pulse, her expression calm and focused, revealing nothing.
Ann watched from the side, her eyes filled with disdain.
Country girl, she scoffed inwardly. What a show-off. Does she truly think she’s some miracle worker? How ridiculous.
A few moments later, Caitlin released Stuart’s wrist.
Keira immediately asked, “Freya, is there a chance your father could wake up?”

So happy for Carey, the reunion with her family is touching. Can we read more of Caitlin and Gordon? Readers are forgetting that Caitlin has a boyfriend by the way. Is it normal for their relationship to be erased in the storyline?...
Update please......
But where is Gordon?...
Great story, great author!...
