Carla was the first to react, her eyes wide in disbelief as she turned to Caitlin. “Freya—wait, so you’re actually Miss Kensington from Apex?”
“Yes,” Caitlin replied with a small nod.
Carla let out a shriek. “Oh my gosh! I can’t believe I’m meeting Miss Kensington from Apex in the flesh! This is unreal!”
Victor, ever the quick thinker, immediately pieced together what had just happened. He turned to Keira and said with a chuckle, “Miss Kensington is extraordinary in every way, but she’s always kept a low profile. If I’d known you were the long-lost granddaughter of the Gonzales family, I would’ve visited long ago! What a mix-up—family not recognizing family! Please, Mrs. Gonzales, don’t hold my cluelessness against me.”
At that moment, Ann’s face, already pale, turned ghostly white. She looked like she might faint right then and there.
Why?
Why did Caitlin have to be the legendary Miss Kensington?
Ann would never have imagined this day would come. Thinking back to everything she’d just said to Caitlin, she wished the floor would open up and swallow her whole. She’d never been so mortified in her life.
Amanda, too, was struggling to stay upright, completely blindsided. She’d been so sure today would be the day to humiliate Caitlin, to finally see her stumble.
In the end, it was her own precious daughter who was the real laughingstock.
Keira smiled warmly. “Mr. Winslow, you’re making too much of it. Since we’re all family here, please, have a seat. Stay for lunch with us.”
“Thank you, Mrs. Gonzales.” Victor gratefully found an empty chair and sat down.
Old Mrs. Ryan turned to Keira, unable to hide her admiration. “Keira, truly—like father, like daughter! Stuart was a powerhouse in the business world, and now Freya is every bit his equal!”
She added, pointedly, “Not like some people—empty vessels make the loudest noise, while those truly capable let their actions speak.”
She knew if she stayed any longer, she’d only make things worse for herself.
“Go on,” Keira replied, her smile fading slightly as she glanced at Ann.
Amanda quickly stood up as well. “Mom, I’ll go take care of Ann.”
Keira nodded.
Amanda hurried after her daughter, and the two of them retreated to the North Wing in silence.
Gavin was lounging on the sofa, scrolling through his phone. At the sound of the door opening, he panicked, quickly locking his phone and stuffing it into his pocket as he stood up. “Amanda, Ann, you’re back already? Weren’t you supposed to be with Mr. Winslow from Apex Game Studios?”

So happy for Carey, the reunion with her family is touching. Can we read more of Caitlin and Gordon? Readers are forgetting that Caitlin has a boyfriend by the way. Is it normal for their relationship to be erased in the storyline?...
Update please......
But where is Gordon?...
Great story, great author!...
